I have been supporting Orient (always preferred that ) for more than sixty eight years and have touched the matchday ball only three times. On two occasions we won. Some who sit near me have never touched the ball. One would have thought it would be a regular occurrence.

I caught the ball at a home game once to massive cheers, took it like Peter Shilton in his heyday! Or at least that is how I saw it! 😂
I did think about heading it straight back, or taking it on my chest, but thought better of it.

used to sit in the south behind the gaol front row so had a quite a lot of touches but gets on your nerves after a while as you are scared to take you eye off the ball for a second

One would have thought it would be a regular occurrence. Twice for me at Brisbane Road. And proper catches. Once in south stand from a wayward shot from Kevin Campbell when he played for Arsenal in a pre-season friendly and more recently in East stand lower. Never touched a ball anywhere else.

Also in the late 60s it was cold I stood behind the goal with a schoolfriend.hardly anyone there. O's used horrible brown balls for the warm up before kick off like clapton orient old stock rock hard. Bullock fired shots at Goddard and one hit the steps by me and smashed me in the face Goddard looked at me all worried, bullock looked at me laughing The basket!!

Something similar happened in East Stand not so long ago when a warm up shot went flying over the bar and hit this poor woman flush in the face who wasn’t watching. Medics attended, and the woman did return for second half. Lesson learned for me was to stay at the bar until just before kick off
