Alan McCormack? Did he not once play for us? Or am I thinking of someone else?

Wonder what benefits he will bring to Orient. He used to be booked and/ or sent off quite frequently as a player I seem to recall!😆👍

Played for us back in 2003. Don’t really remember him.

Played for us back in 2003. Don’t really remember him. Ironically it was Martin Ling signed him on loan for us. Hopefully that doesn’t bring out the old “ jobs for the boys” accusations that some like to level against him.😳

Can he coach set-pieces?

He was the Ebou Adams of his day, definitely one you'd rather have on your side rather than in the opposition.

I remember him on loan to us and badly mistiming a tackle right in front of the ref. He was saying sorry and putting his hands in a praying position.but out came the straight red card. He's been a coach at Luton and look how well they've done.

Yes, a role he did at Luton.

Personally don't remember him playing for us if I am being honest.
I welcome him to the club, he says Lingy spoke to me, I wonder how this came about and if Ritchie had a say in it.
5 promotions says he's a winner as well.
Welcome to the club.

I noticed that about talking to Ling. I’m sure he spoke to Richie as well, but the main man is Ling. But we know that

Of course he spoke to Martin Ling first. The administration of Recruitment is Ling’s job. If Ritchie speaks to someone before Ling does, then Ritchie is doing Ling’s job for him. The article on the orient website also quotes Ritchie saying he spoke to him too. The guy played 10 games for us 20 years ago, hardly a ‘jobs for the boys’ situation.
His prior experience sounds fine, better than Matt Harrold had when he joined as coach. He’s going to be 3rd in charge at best, I doubt we’d be getting in anyone with a ‘wow’ CV for that position. Of course we don’t know how it’ll turn out, but let’s not look for problems where there are no indications there are any.
