The below is a slightly cut down version of a post I have just made on the Hearts fans website, Jambos Kickback.
Can't wait for this game which I am travelling up for. I moved to England from Scotland almost 40 years ago. I am meeting up with a couple of my cousins and sons who are coming. Got my tickets and train tickets all confirmed in the last few days.
Our grandfather, on my mother's side served in the trenches in WW1 and survived to marry my grandmother who had been widowed when her first husband was killed by machine gun fire in 2018. He was not of course related to me in any way, but I have always felt gratitude to him and have a sense of connection. Had he not been killed, my grandmother would not have gone on to later marry my grandfather with whom she subsequently had 6 children including my mother. Had this not happened, me and all of my family as I know it including my cousins, their families and my son etc. would never have come to be.
I think its brilliant that the two clubs are coming together for this. Over the years I've been been continually impressed by the respect and reverence Orient and our fans pay at the remembrance time games every November, I know that Hearts regard this as very important too, and I am aware of the particular poignance for each club.
I'm looking forward to to seeing and meeting our fans in Edinburgh and chatting to Hearts fans who I have always found to be a very decent bunch.

Always look for the Hearts result and especially against Hibs.Watch it when televised. So good that both teams revere their fallen and all others that gave their lives.A lot of emotion around remembrance day and O's do it so well.

I have also been looking at the Hearts fans forum and they seem very excited about the occasion . I believe they are saying over 1000 Orient fans have got tickets and will also mark the event by wearing vintage shirts for the match .It seems this event will be very popular and well supported by both clubs .

So many lives lost/ruined in both wars. I sometimes watch Dickinsons real deal on TV and young people bring in their grandads war medals to sell They don't want them they want the money for an holiday. It beggars belief it really does.

I’m getting the 8 o’clock train from Kings Cross up to Edinburgh on the Saturday morning for the game. I wonder if I’ll see any fellow O’s fans on the same train?
