But not in the National League. I hated that with a passion. 😎😎😎 Yet dohnut you watch your local non league team.I rather enjoyed the NL although hated being in it,the bonus was we had a club. Wonder how they will fare this season and what will become of Roots Hall.Be good to play them again, would have made a great pre-season home game, but I suppose it would have been played as a very robust cup tie.Players laid out everywhere. Should say I hated watching us in the National League. I pop down to Eastleigh when the opportunity arises, Yeovil too. Both NL and both reasonable journeys for me. I just love the game. But no disrespect to other NL clubs, having watched us play league games against Spurs, Liverpool, Arsenal and so on I really struggled with some of the fixtures and grounds in the NL. I just never believed that was our level. Snobby perhaps but that’s how I felt. We belong higher. But in all honesty I don’t believe we are Championship quality either right now. I dislike Brisbane Road too and the limits it imposes. So league 1 is fine, with the bigger games that brings. I’d like us to be competitive in league 1 and with a sustainable financial model. Would I like new billionaire owners with money to burn on a historic London club. Absolutely.

Well they played there far more recently than us. Their last Championship game was against Southampton and I went along to watch already relegated Southend with my Shrimper mates. They got beat. I decided to wear my Orient shirt and got accosted and abused by a group of Southend fans who felt I was trying to take the Hiss watching them go down whilst wearing Os colours. As if. Since then they have been on a long, painful, slippery slope to near collapse. Yet retain to this day a largish fan base. You are lucky you didn’t get whacked! Joking aside it nearly came to that. But my shrimper nephew came back from the toilet and intervened. Luckily he’s well over 6ft and calmed the situation. We still have the odd laugh about it. But I was a tad stupid.

Had many glass bottles thrown at me and a young five year old boy Who was with me.Many just short of us.We had the last laugh because we won the match.Had the long walk to Hobly Thick Lane to my parked car. ''Had many glass bottles thrown at me and a young five year old boy Who was with me'' OMG, that is a disgrace.

Well not the start as Ling made a few mistakes until a certain man asked to be the manager of our club. That man put a smile back on my face, he built a club that was sitting in rubble and those foundations remain today. We owe him so much. Everything since was possible due to him. Again Ling made mistakes until Richie came along and asked to be our manager, but nothing happened without the man, the legend and may his soul rest in peace. Justin Edinburgh.

They did quite well last season considering they could barely field a team and didn't have the full sub's allocation.Would have finished in the play-offs but for the point's deduction, which punished the fans as well.
