Lot of conjecture and finger pointing as to why we are ‘slow’ , but where are the facts confirming it’s our fault? I get the frustration, but we won’t be alone. Perhaps the original message should have been, we have identified our targets, we just have to be patient to land them. Fair point bb. The “ two” deals were apparently tied up last week bar the formalities of announcement. What has gone wrong and caused the delay is unclear but could be the players themselves or their agents/ clubs just easily as the O’s.

Those pesky Agents I suspect, greasy little hands on a bigger deal. Player was satisfied with terms but his agent scratching around for a better deal to increase his % cut.

Been there, done it. So this sort of stuff won’t be new, won’t be a surprise. Will be expected. Based on that, the rhetoric from the club perhaps should reflect the enormous amount of experience we have. And of course those sorts of problems will affect all clubs. We are not unique. (We really are not unique). Other clubs will have tight budgets, other clubs will be just as fussy about the players they bring in. Other clubs will be dealing with agents. Other clubs will be dealing with players wanting the best deal they can. Yet still manage to recruit. Odd that!

All clubs work differently, some clubs plan is to wait others plan back up options and move fast to get players in early. Both Richie and Nigel made it clear that getting players in earlier was essential so that alone shows something has gone wrong. Of course deals can fall through for one reason or another but to be 3 potential starters short a few weeks before the season starts isn't ideal considering the what we were told at the end of the season.

he defended the numbers and in his words explained the quantum of people was aligned to how the club was developing and consistent with other clubs - I question that. ===================================
You are entitled to your opinion but I just wonder what specific experience you have to 'question that'

Exactly right. Were hear the words, we seen the results. They just don’t match up. I hope the club choose their words more carefully in the future.

I agree - just underlining that it isn’t necessarily all down to Ling & Co, other factors may have come into play. Unfortunately the net result is the same.Still convinced that at least one of the deals will get done though.👍

Probably because the moaners go on and on and on ,relentless . Out of ten how well do YOU consider the transfer window has gone so far taking into consideration what we still need with only a few weeks to go before Bolton? a good point made which he ignored, so far. I am no moaner as my posts on this platform will testify to. However, Richie said after the Jan window we have to move quicker, get the deals done early. He also went on to say we can't repeat this in the next window. After it blew up on here and the other board and no doubt social media Nigel undertook an interview 2 days later to say we've listened to Richie we've learnt and we will look to improve, we will be better. Now let's look at the actions, do they match the words? No they don't. Nigel said a month ago we've got some really exciting signings lined up which you will be excited about, in came kelman, omg thats barrel scrapping, but Richie wants him so let's have it. Since than nothing really and now we go to Spain missing the key players and a keeper is vitally important and we don't have one. We once again have a depleted squad going to hot weather training, where fitness levels will be boosted, team morale improved and a togetherness only being together 24/7 can do. We are 4 players short, about to start our 4th week of pre season fast approaching our first league game and we've made the same mistakes and or slow progress like last summer and we all know that those delays and lack of depth cost us a play off spot. If I'm moaning or bed wetting, don't come on here moaning when we get turned over again and again as we are not ready. With that I bid you good day, I've got things to do.
