Been churning through the odds and can't see much of value.
I fancy a fiver on Charlton to be honest, for a change they seem to have strategy in signing players, a decent enough manager and a bit of stability from the back end of last season. Also cleared out a lot of deadwood and going with a smaller but more constructed squad.
Stockport have been going about their business and appear to have built a really solid but not spectacular League One squad. Love Dave Challinor too.
Birmingham are obviously the favourites and been plentiful in their signings, but they will take a bit of time to gel, have a new manager, etc.. should still win it on paper.
Rotherham still haunt me and i can't talk about them. Especially with the return of the big guy.
Wrexham i think will have the players but might find it a bit more of a struggle than expected. Likely playoffs.
According to the bookies, there appears to be a clear bottom 4 - Crawley, Shrewsbury, Cambridge, Northampton. And then a 3 or 4 doodling along, Stevenage, Mansfield, Exeter, and Burton. Probably can't argue with that bottom 8 teams. I'd be horrified if we got dragged into it though.
Then you have the middle 8 - The mighty O's, Bristol Rovers, Reading, Lincoln, Wigan, Stockport, Wycombe, Blackpool. I reckon you can split these 8 in two groups, the haves and have nots. O's, Bristol Rovers, Lincoln being the poor relations to Reading, Wigan, Blackpool, all bigger clubs and should be punching higher, Wycombe, Stockport and money to throw around.
Anyway.. to sum it up.. i reckon a fiver on Charlton to go up and my dark horse is Stockport.
And we will finish 16th. Which although lower than this season will actually be an improvement in relative terms.

I reckon Reading will be in the frame, they have not left that big fish in a small pond state of mind. Many bigguns found it tough going in League one when it was a lot less competitive than it is now. Some stayed for two or three years longer than they thought.Promotion from any league is very rare for most clubs. The two promotions in two seasons clubs often tumble back to their normal place in the way of things. But by Jove it must be great to achieve two promotions in two seasons.I would take that.

Sounds about right to me. Barring a disaster I doubt we will be bottom 8 and barring a miracle not top 8. Good enough

I Agree Mungo although I no longer gamble Charlton look a very decent bet this season they finally look like they have a manager and possibly the right owners in place. They have a great stadium and if they can get off to a good start and gain some momentum then 12/1 to win the league is decent value and 4/1 to gain promotion will give you a fun bet for the season

Despite all the crap I still do. Amazing things happen and to be honest we’ve experienced that twice in recent seasons. But a third time? That’s being greedy, but I’d take it.

What division are Stevenage in. What I’m trying to say is,just as Stevenage surprised a few people last season in LEAGUE 1(they were a relegation favourite) Crawley can also surprise a few people in LEAGUE 1

Don’t be fooled on Crawley..They could be this season’s Stevenage!! They’ve got a top manager and I like their recruitment policy of flipping random rough non league diamonds. But they’ve lost the core of their team. Thought Tsaroulla should have been on our radar and surprised he dropped back to league 2 with notts. money talks. Stevenage - got kemp good signing but no Evans so a different kettle all together

I think Shrewsbury are a John Marquis injury away from a disaster. Plus the club is up for sale.
Huddersfield should be up there, as well as Peterborough.

Most of us here are old enough to remember Reading were annual bottom feeders along with Bradford City. I'd take a bet they'll go down soon.

If I was going to have a punt on us, I'd wait until the end of September and then put money on us.as we'll be around the bottom after our tough start.
We'll pull it back in October, November and December. But batten down the hatches in August and September 😬

A big away support for the last game of the season as Huddersfield hail their promotion heroes alongside Leyton Orient fans who hail their teams promotion. That sounds good enough for me. The game ending with the hosts triumphant.
