.... I thought you lived in Australia or am I getting muddled up with someone else ? Not me Dennis, I've never been down under. I've lived in London, Miami, Pafos, Malaga, Cedar Key (Florida) and since 2016, in Varaždin - Croatia.

Not you, ok so if you are living in Croatia, means you cannot go to the football matches that the Os ladies play in, if correct, then why such a keen interest in a team who's matches you cannot go to see, surely a team local to where you live would be a better option for you ? As to who lives in Australia, I remember someone saying they live down under or perhaps it may be on the other Os forum ?

I live in Australia, and I know there’s at least another two posters on this board that live here too.

I sure the name ''Adz'' rings a bell, perhaps that person is an Aussie on the other Os forum, I shall have a look ? Annoys me when something slips my memory that I know, like forgetting where I put something in my house, car keys especially, I really get annoyed with myself !

I'm Orient, have been since 1963. I have lived in Croatia for 20 years but that's for other 'life' reasons (sunshine is a big one). I'm retired and would like to give something back to the club I've followed for 60 years, to do that l need to dovetail whatever l have to offer with a niche within the club where it can help. I identifed that niche as providing regular news items about the women's team via my skills as a front end web developer and amateur journo. There are 4 of us now, one of us lives in Germany, and we all pretty much share a deep affection for the O's and enjoy the modest contributions we make. If you go to lofcwomen.com you'll see how we do that and, recently, how we've started to introduce ourselves to whoever has a similar question to you. In short Dennis, like you, Orient is in our blood and this is how we like to get involved.

That is a good interest for you but in the meantime are there any local football clubs you could perhaps visit sometimes to see a game of football, be it mens or womens football ? Must be some near to you as Croatia is a footballing nation and the national team is of a very high standard. As to if Leyton Orient women's team will ever get near the higher leagues, well a very long way to go, high attendances needed and what with the big investment's from the Premier League team now being so involved and the top women players being paid better wages, who knows.

Croatian football is of good quality, my town of Varaždin has a team in the top league. However, most teams other than Hajduk Split and Dinamo Zagreb struggle to get 1,000 gates and most stadiums have a running track around the pitch. There's no atmosphere, no excitement, no real competition. Most people here regard the league as entirely corrupt - from owners to players to referees. I couldn't possibly comment about that but the stadiums are empty, only the national team are regarded as playing in "real" competitions. There is no club like Orient or any other EFL side.
