Well this is fun 😞. Every day is above 30°C but it seems I am to be denied a cold beer or three. Anyone have a miracle cure? I had it in my right foot, big toe joint about two years ago. I thought it was a whack, but alas it wasn't. I didn't bother the doctor, looked up what to do, drank plenty of water as it helps to break down the crystals, cut out tomatoes, seafood and red meat. I iced the joint several times a day, tried to keep weight off the area as much as possible and finally my mate gave me some colchicine tablets as he continually gets gout and all those things worked and I've never had it since. Hope this helps. That's an awful lot of work and food control hope it does the trick for you.

I had it once about twenty years ago, never again. Woke up with a what I thought was a broken big toe. Even having a bedsheet over it hurt like hell. Went to the Doctors and the symptoms were exactly that of gout. Was prescribed Colchicine which is basically a crocus to alleviate the pain.
Gout is hereditary and over indulgence in rich foods does not cause it but they don’t help. As other people said, drink loads of water to move those nasty Uric acid crystals out of your joints (gravity causes it to drop to your toes). You can try to change your lifestyle and avoid high purine foods which cause a uric acid build up. Unfortunately beer is high in purines. Foods to avoid include red meat, bacon, fish especially shellfish, soda law says that it’s all the things you like. Just Google ‘high purine foods’. Loads of stuff on there.
Allopurinol is effective in stopping gout but you’re on it for life.
I had it once, changed my diet but went back on the beer and bacon sandwiches after a while and never had it since. You may only get it once in your life if you’re lucky.
I also remember that stress and being over weight can trigger it.
Loads of stuff on it on the Internet. I never want it again as it was super painful.
Good luck!

PS. Colchicine can give you the squirts on high doses. Sorry. 💩

Thanks Brentwoodo, symptoms seem to be easing today. I live in a hot country so being denied a cold beer, even as weak as the euro-fizz most of them are, is a difficult cross to bear.

Thanks again one and all for the advice. Almost gone now, no alcohol, no tomatoes, no seafood of any kind, no red meat. A small price to pay to be rid of the pain. No meds required.
Awesome guys! 👍🏼🙂

October to mid November seems ideal, just a little warmer than here.My holiday in Dubrovnik was late September to early Octobber and the weather was delightful. That was back in 1973 the last holiday we ever had.Now Reeves wants to steal our money for all those holidays we never had for 51 years.
