I’m sure the club will think of other sponsorship opportunities. Official throw in partners, official white line painting sponsors, ideal for local painters and decorators, Ball boy/girl sponsors. The list is endless. But it’s all money for the club and publicity for the sponsors. Win win

Maybe it’s just some sort of inverted snobbery but tbh I feel at times that it’s a bit tawdry.

I used to work in the US in the 1990s and got involved with the NHRA (Drag Racing) and they had sponsors for everything. NHRA official beer, auto insurance provider, even chewing tobacco..... everything.

Not in the US but l ran a team based at Santa Pod for about 10 years (1990' ish), we had a company (https://speedflow.co.uk) which sold fluid/gas transfer equipment which paid for most of it. Travelling the NHRA tour around the US was a key sales activity.

It was great but with a car running the standing 1/4 mile in 7 seconds, it was very expensive. The whole thing ran its course and we quit at the same time as our sponsors (Big Bus Company) decided to move on.
