Terrific player. We'd better do something or we will lose him for nothing In certain player situations tommydark, there is not a lot the club can do about it no matter how much they try.So many clubs far ahead of us in the financial department.I like the League 1 steady ship we steer. The status quo is always the first option, anything better bliss!

Terrific player. We'd better do something or we will lose him for nothing Why would he sign a contract extension? In June he will go on a free and negotiate great terms, especially as only modest age-related compensation to pay. Be silly to sign a deal with us.

Well he could also sign a new contract with a better deal and an agreed buyout clause.

Probably get a better contact if there was no buyout clause.Sadly teams Like Orient are just stepping stones and it goes way up to the top of the football pyramid.

He is on the up but sadly with a 2 year deal expiring in June, not with us. Providing we are in a reasonable league position, get what we can. I doubt there will be a shortage of interested clubs.

A lot depends on whether he buys into Richie's vision and how much he likes working with him. As others have said he could sign a new deal with a buy out clause, like Kyps did.

Bigger question BB is will Galbraith buy into the club’s vision which appears to something along the lines of “ we’re happy to muddle through in mid table”.

Yes,but from there as a base who knows what could happen over a whole season.Don't think the board are a muddle through board,we have to settle in League 1 first, the best league we can see Orient football at the moment.

Brown did. But his contract had expired and he finally signed with us. Belief in us or few alternative offers? Same for Ruel a couple of years ago. With all due respect to Brown who, in my opinion hasn’t progressed as I expected, Galbraith is a different level. Nothing to do with Richie’s vision and everything to do with career progression. For Galbraith I doubt very much Orient are anything other than a career stepping stone and our future plans meaningless. We are an employer, nothing more. Our vision is not his. I would love a contract extension with buy out clause. But how does that benefit him?

I get what you're saying and from the outside that is what it appears to be at times. Internally I'm sure Richie will be pitching his vision to players like Ethan and where he sees us going. There's been lots of talk from RW previously of him saying he made some decisions in his own career path, which with hindsight he might have done differently. I'm sure he'll be saying don't chase the big bucks just yet, when I can make you into an ever better player and take you on a journey to the Championship with a club which showed faith in you, when you came down from Manchester. Sign the contract Ethan.

Sign the contract Ethan. Why do we believe only Richie can make him a better player? Pretty sure there are lots of good coaches out there. And I suspect there are other clubs better able to take him into the championship than us. Is Championship football even a reality for us anytime soon? Would love him to sign. Who knows. But if I were his agent my conversation would be aimed totally towards his progress and not ours.

Contract hadn't expired Doh, he originally came to us on an 18month deal, resigned for 2 years in May 2023 and has now extended his deal to 2025/26. www.leytonorient.com/news/2023/may/16/jordan-brown-pens-new-deal-at-the-o-s/So no, he wasn't in a position where he was out of contract, he's shown commitment to the club and Richie. Sometimes there is more to a players decision than money or whether they are going to a bigger club, thankfully.

Didn’t realise he still had time to run on his contract. 👍

I certainly hope he signs - if he doesn’t the club will almost certainly miss out on a future lucrative transfer deal!
