Whilst we await Richie taking us to the 4th of the league cup, sit back and wallow with smiles as wide as a grinning Cheshire Cat as we March all the way to the semi finals with what I consider to be the best orient team I’ve seen in my lifetime of supporting the club.

That video will be great to use to cheer us up this season on bad Saturdays! We made an awful lot of dough in that cup run, prize money, replays etc Even a big pay day as losing semi finalists Trouble after tasting glory our players wanted first division We lost Hoadley and Roeder days before the start of 78-79 season But great memories

Kitchen was unplayable against Chelsea in the replay his first goal would be replayed every season on the highlights if we were a bigger club

Do we need this thread tonight or what! Coates left spurs in 1977 and played a season in Australia. Just so happened Moore's joined same time. What a great attitude Ralph had, always geeing up the team, clapping hands and shaking a fist.

Someone value kitchen in today's market Tier two player at the time 1978 today's money.. I'd say £3m ? Scored 20 plus goals in a struggling second tier team.Scorwd in every fa cup round apart from the sem final I'd say in today's market would be worth around 15 million and someone wo take a punt. The best centre forward I've seen play for Orient in the fifty years I've been a supporter

Kitchen was unplayable against Chelsea in the replay his first goal would be replayed every season on the highlights if we were a bigger club If only we had a current striker with half his ability..

If Kitchen was playing today we wouldn't get a look in because back then players didn't have Agents. Club Managers did the deals. Nice little earner for them on the selling side. The Agent in today's market would hawk his merchandise around the clubs going to the highest bidder imo.

Osoldguy I'm a big fan of our history and take my hat off to your 70+ years of sufferance! Can you recall if the old west stand had a roof when you started going? I know before it was a large open mound

Osoldguy I'm a big fan of our history and take my hat off to your 70+ years of sufferance! Can you recall if the old west stand had a roof when you started going? I know before it was a large open mound I started supporting in 1962 so I'm quite a youngster. Both ends of the ground were open behind the goals, but the other sides were covered.

Thanks for that. I'm 1968 starter. I've an old pic of our stadium and the only stand is what was called the orange box.500 seats and cramped undercroft
