He is not a happy bunny. We were too slow, too flat, too lethargic with no intensity. I’m not sure where we go from here as Reading will destroy us next week on that showing.

When I saw we had 73% possession I thought we'd probably not played too badly. So much for possession stats.

Of course red. No option but to go again, and again, and again until the league is done and our objectives achieved with full glory glory

A honest appraisal as usual. Would love to be a fly on the wall when he talks to players and staff behind the scenes. When he can really let go. Not doing his personal street cred too much good.

We really miss el mazouri in midfield. Evidently he went for £400,000 well given what he brings to the team it would be money well spent.

Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and march back to the training ground to get it right next time. These things happen, a bad day at the office. So be it. We go again. Chins up chaps.

Exactly right. Once the disappointment wears off and generally being puzzed off fades, still 42 games to go so no drama as long as the players learn from it and improve from the experience.

In respect of yesterday, I think it’s the nature of the defeat rather than the defeat itself that is the most difficult thing to come to terms with. Going in on the back of a good result in midweek and a decent showing against the league leaders the previous Saturday gave grounds for optimism. RW will need to go back to the drawing board after what we saw at Shrewsbury.🙁

A few reflections in the cold light of day;
- Everyone has been saying that this season would be harder than last. - The performance at Shrewsbury is a classic case of thinking that a game against a normal-sized League One club is going to be easier than playing one of the bigger teams. Happens all the time. - So no surprises so far. - It is still very early in the season - But we are now on the back foot in the league. - The danger is that everyone starts to lose faith in each other. - Do we still think this squad could and should have given Shrewsbury a game and got a result? Well, I do anyway.
I always say this in these circumstances - all fans can do to influence the situation is support the team. Time for us to show we still trust this group.

Watching the match on the tv stream Can RW explain why in this and other matches when we are losing towards the end of the 90 min and / or in extra time our goalie will always adopt a route one style of kicking the ball into the opponent’s part of the pitch.
If the club manager or players believe in this frantic change of style as being assumed more effective then why do we for the complete match use our preferred style of short passing.
If we are chasing the game why not just keep playing the style of passing. If passing is deemed inadequate for the critical last 10 or so min surely that should NOT be the preferred style for the whole match.
It defies logic to adapt the last few minutes to get up pumping the ball forward when it was not done that way as a preference in the match
This change at the end when losing amazes me and it’s totally illogical to the theme of tactics during the game.
In short if players think that approach is so effective you best just do it all the time and get two wingers to act like traditional wingers and buy some central forward that is 6ft 4in and do a Wimbledon for 90min
