Nice day in Chigwell for a good bollocking.Just why do the players not listen to RW when they are playing.Just so bad when the whole team have a day off, complacancy often sets in when we are not playing the big boys.Slow play pp passing and crabbing about at the back are too common in our games. Just what does the manager say when they do not play the game he wants them to play.We are all annoyed and as baffled as RW.

I have a (possibly) unpopular opinion on that. If you watch Wellens antics during a match he is NEVER happy no matter what is going on. He's only ever a maximum of 30 seconds away from chucking his arms in the air and screaming at players. I think a lot of them just switch off from him.

There does seem to have been a certain degree of difficulty/ reluctance - especially amongst a number of the โsenior proโs โ in fully adjusting to RWโs methods.

Just what does the manager say when they do not play the game he wants them to play.We are all annoyed and as baffled as RW. I can answer this. And it came from a very unlikely source. It was the Dad of a player who was on loan at Fisher Athletic (step 9 maybe?) last season from a National League (step 4?) team. He was watching his son and we were chatting. The son was a full-time professional of a National League team and had been training two evenings a week with Fisher. In training every player could carry out instructions given by the manager and coaches. During a game, the only player sticking to instructions was the Son. The loanee professional. None of the other players could play to instructions during the game. That is the difference. It goes like this: A Premier League player will carry out the game plan 90% of the time. They will do it, and keep continuing to do it no matter how many times they get booted in the air, pulled to the ground, etc. They are practically robots. Look at Haaland and the likes. It's consistent. Championship players 75% of the time. League One players 50% of the time. And so on.. all the way to park level where everyone just runs around like headless chickens with no plan. Look at the players we've had that have gone on to better things, they listen. Other players like Ogie, Smith, Drinan, Khan. All really good players, but were they listening? Even Vigouroux admits that when he wasn't listening and learning he dropped out the league. Look at what happened when he grew up and listened. Game changer. Yes you have to have the raw talent, which all footballers have, but it's the ones that can carry out instructions consistently that push on.

Obviously you have your mavericks like Gazza, Taraabt, etc.
You just gotta let them go and express themselves.
Maybe Moncur was our maverick.

Very good points made,it all comes down to who can accept discipline and take an order.I had to and did, although I did throw my pennyworth in when I felt wronged. But the moment I left work and had been given my next job the discipline kicked in.

The issue we have is we have decent players, but only decent at this level. To go to the next level there has to be more about them, that little bit extra. The ability to absorb what you are being told / shown sets players apart. We are a team in learning, for RW to be given those players who can do it will cost dough and thatโs nothing something we have so he is trying to develop it in the players we have. Some may make it, others may not.
