Didn't go to the QPR match, but something has kicked off on Twitter and some fella is getting stick from a load of Twitter trolls.
Just read that there's been abuse from the message boards too. I've had a quick skim and can't see anything.
If you do, bring it to my attention.

It's on the other board. He is getting loads of abuse on Twitter. Weather you agree with him or not i can't understand the abuse.

In the South Stand by the away end, not far from where I sit, there were a bunch of lads who sang alot of songs and were generally making a good atmosphere.
However they apparently sang some songs with rude words and this McMahon character was offended and took to social media to attract attention to himself by saying he had given up his season ticket in disgust.
Abuse followed.
Not sure what the fuss was, the lads were a bit annoying with their some of their songs in a meaningless friendly but I would rather have singing and standing and shed banging than the usual silence at Brisbane Road.

He didn't get abuse because he decided to give up his season ticket; he decided to give up his season ticket after he got abused, threatened & generally told he wasn't welcome at the Orient by a selection of our less savoury fans. Though they did also carry on abusing him (& his girlfriend & any female who dared to agree with him) after he decided to quit the club so I could see how you could maybe get cause & effect confused.
Apparently some people think being able to sing some trite, unoriginal, sexist garbage is more important than treating those whose views differ with even a tiny amount of decency or restraint. Which is a huge pity, especially when it drives people away from the club..

From what I can tell this McMahon is just some media-whore looking for attention. He won't give up his season ticket - he is milking this alleged 'abuse' he suffered to boost his twitter following but I didn't see any of that.
The lads singing were having a laugh and not doing anything malicious except I disagreed with them when they turned on their own fans for being too quiet but they might have had a point, sometimes Brisbane Road can be a bit quiet.
If this McMahon never comes back to Orient then, frankly, who would care. He should man up if he wants to sit in the South Stand.
If someone doesn't want to hear rude words and banter he should go the opera not bloody football.

He could have sat in the West stand where it is lovely and quite,or if there were females around who felt offended, tell the stewards and let them take action.

So in discussion about sexism the solution being offered to anyone offended is that they should "man up"?
It would be funny if it wasn't just oh so predictable.

I assumed the point of a forum was to discuss things; apparently I was wrong. Don't worry, I won't make the same mistake again.

Good on the kids for trying to get a bit of noise going around Brisbane road, many many times the ground is far too quiet, I don't see what this James fella is annoyed about, does he not expect to go to the football and hear swearing? Even if not in song/chant people still swear out in frustration or at opposing players, it goes with the territory of being a football fan,

No-one said you weren't entitled to your opinion Hawaii FiveO but I have not heard many Orient fans in the South Stand or otherwise who have agreed with this McMahon about the events of Tuesday night. You seem to be on his side but were you there in person or are you just following his version of events on social media? To be honest, the things I have heard at football over the years make anything sung on Tuesday night seem very tame so I am not sure why this McMahon was offended, has he never been to a football match before? Also the main guy of the singing group, this James bloke on the other forum who attended the match with a bunch of females I might add , seems like a reasonable and nice guy and has even offered to apologise in person to McMahon at the next match and buy him a beer. I doubt this McMahon has the cojones to accept and would prefer to hide behind his keyboard and rant about Orient fans in general. Personally, I think the club should ban him for giving the fans a bad name.

Don't worry, I won't make the same mistake again. of course you are right on the point of a forum is to discuss things , but on this board we do try to discuss what goes on , on the pitch and the players and the club in general , in all the years I have been supporting the club , ive never met another supporter here who is sexist , we have a proud reputation here of not being a , racist sexist or violent club with other fans , and yes we are a great community club , that's not something that's just happened that's been here for the 40 years ive been coming to club , of course you will find banter here from sections of the ground ,but its nothing compared to what you will hear at other grounds , its just banter no more , and as I said we leave this kind of discussion to the other board ,as we all know they love a good row over there , ie last forum closed down , and please don't think we bury our heads in the sand over here , but we try more to discuss football, not political correctness, who said this or who said that

kbola, you say I seem to be on McMahon's side: I'm not trying to cause an argument & I'm not on anyone's "side" as such.
But in answer to you question yes, I was there. I heard the little girl ask what the song meant & saw the look on her dad's face when she did & can see why it upset McMahon. And yes, the James who was in that singing group has been fairly reasonable about Tuesday. But I have personally been on the receiving end of sexist abuse from others in that group at past games & have seen for myself what has been directed at McMahon on twitter so can understand why he declined James' offer.
And leytonorientbob; you may not have met anyone sexist while supporting Orient but doesn't mean they don't exist. I can't agree that being told to get my tits out for the lads, then being threatened with violence for objecting to that request is "just banter" but I also understand the futility of banging my head against a brick wall so will make no further comment on the subject, as instructed.

Fair points Hawaii. Glad you are still attending and not trying to further your media career by slagging off a whole football club in a national magazine like our friend McMahon the Doncaster fan. Luckily he will soon be forgotten and Orient will continue their rise.
