Can we please stop doing this.
One hasn't hampered the other. We've been told this time and again. And if you aren't aware of that, then go back and watch the many times it has been discussed by Nigel, Devlin, etc.
The club is doing right by trying to make Brisbane Road a better place to generate income and turnover as from next season this is linked to a % of what we receive from Sky.
In short.. we didn't miss out on El-Miz because we built a new toilet cubicle in the East Stand. And to think as much is nonsense and you need to give your head a wobble.

I think the east stand work makes sense. Money recouped in two years then clear profit so I heard. One area though, the money spent on the Spanish trip would have given us a chance to bid for el miz. Even if he still chose oxford, the fact we'd actually tried to buy him would of gone down as an attempted "exciting signing"

The fact of the matter is that £400k is too much for us (likewise the £250k for Boyd-Munce). And then I'm pretty sure that in the Championship Oxford are paying him a lot more than we can offer. Plus he likely wanted to be a Championship player.

Marshall Taylor has found it necessary to post on 'X' in an attempt to advise people that we had a budget, Richie and ML knew and agreed it, the whole player budget was spent, we have something like two players per position, it's the best we could do with our budget. "We" are going to lose about £3 million this season and all of that will come out of the owners' pocket. The money we got for Ruel "didn't touch the sides".
We are Leyton Orient and the only time we had a decent budget, certainly in my lifetime, was when we were relegated to the NL and almost closed. We have to make the best with what we have - like we always have. We are little Leyton Orient but, currently, we are smashing it!

It’s equally fair to say our losses are not only related to the team budget but to investment in the infrastructure. Only the board know the cost and benefits and we are in no position to criticise them for wanting to improve a stadium that is past its best by date. Those of us that spent time in the East stand last season experienced just how poor it was. The other side of the coin is the loss of revenue should the team continue with its current poor run. Won’t impact massively this season with season cards already sold, the impact being the pay on the day fans and incidental associated income. Bottom line being people won’t come and spend. Benefits from infrastructure changes can quickly be eroded elsewhere. its a fine line. Allocating money to this or that budget is, other than for fixed costs, something Boards discuss and is a Board decision. Allocating more to one at the expense of another is generally a business choice based on what they decide.

Pity they didn't sponsor an el miz signing instead of Spain. Now hes Gaughan but not forgotten! They should have sponsored a trip to Bognor instead of Spain. The heat wouldn't have been so bad, the bonding would have been just as effective, and the 'friendly' against local opposition quite possibly less antagonistic.

A Jolly boys outing to Bognor, Clacton, Yarmouth or Southend and Canvey Island well cheaper, probably get just as good team bonding. Back in the day Don Revie arranged non-footballing activities such as bingo and bowling tournaments to foster team spirit.
