Seems like a good idea. The assumption generally seems to be that out of contract players haven't been keeping fit.
And Marcus Browne still hasn't been snapped up? Think he ticks a lot of boxes for us so assume he didn't impress during his trial period. Either that or we really are broke.

Out if contract players must keep fit or won't be touched with a barge pole. Seems we must steer clear of paying transfer fees,so this type of player is useful. Especially if we go with young players in the main. A couple of old and wise heads would give us a nice blend.

But will the DoF listen or are finances that tight that the piggy bank is empty as reported the owners are forking out 3 mil just to operate per year. A Free agent will either be grateful that someone's given him an opportunity, or will he be a free agent that wants a large signing on fee. We probably will never know.

We seem to have an unnerving habit of signing players whose fitness levels are some way off a 100% tbh and, in any event, even the fittest of free agents are likely to be some way off if they have had no competitive game time for an extended time.
