Come on guys What about Ian Moores?? He’s even given us the memorial penalty ever taken at Brissy!!! 😁 He was taken only 46. Lung cancer I believe. One of the really good players O's attracted in the 70's. Apart from that famous penalty miss.He was a very good player for us 👍🏾..I didn’t realise he was only 46 when he departed..Maybe he seemed older cos I was younger

Going back a bit but I was never worried when Barry Dyson took our pens-hardly ever missed. Amongst the worst, remember Colin west 1990s pen when he gently floated it in the centre of the goal.the keeper didn't dive and just gathered it. Westy took heaps from the crowd.

The WHU fullback did that - they had two over the years that hit it very hard Ray Stewart was his name and he took 76 penalties and scored 76 times. The best I’ve ever seen. Alan Shearer took 80 penalties and scored 73 of them Matt le Tissier took 43 penalties and scored 43 I think Julian Dicks was another high successful one ?

It says Dicks took 20 and scored 20. When you mentioned his name I thought it would have been a higher number.

Yeah in my minds eye I've got Dicks down as way more than that. That guy could certainly hit a ball.

Well he does, of course he does, but not to the level that is expected of a team where work rate is king. Same reason James was dropped, he too is not the type of player who charges around the whole game. Neither did Pigott. Richie is the manager, he sets the scene. His choice. But talking of pure football ability, Moncur remains streets ahead of anyone in our team right now skill wise. The guy is class. Why Richie said he was surprised a league 2 or league 1 team didn’t come in for him! He just isn’t a work-rate type of player, so off he went. Love Moncs but you couldnt reply on him to be fit and cant build a team around him. We need consistency to be able to build a midfield - which I think is THE most important part of any team. Honestly, I think that's the problem. We won't have needed him in every game but he is a game changer. Charlton away this season he was missed badly, and is a different presence to Galbraith/Donley up the pitch who we would build around when we play our ideal way

This all because the mindset of players were not focused imo practise makes perfect.

Beats me why, being as no one came in to buy him, then why not to have kept him and used him for his control etc for around the last third of the game, that is when we seem to often lose control of the midfield at the moment. I also do not agree with the insistence of keeping playing out from the back when we are under a lot of pressure, keeper included. Sometimes it is safer and easier to knock the ball out ( upfield if possible ) for a throw in to give the defence to regroup.

In his time at the Os, Bonne was brilliant at taking penalties.

We had a Player, cannot remember his Name but he was rated as a £500,000 Player at one time before he came to us who used to take the Penalties. I didn't rate him, one time he took one and hit the Corner Flag.

I am sure I recall Gordon Banks saving a Geoff Hurst penalty when Banks was playing for Stoke City. Yes League cup semi final 1972 against West Ham and Stoke city won that game then beat Chelsea in the final 2-1. At the end of the season, Banks was named the FWA Footballer of the Year, becoming the first goalkeeper to receive the honour since Bert Trautmann in 1956.
