Slade was on Talksport too this morning discussing Kane, and Scott McGleish waz doing the same yesterday. All good memories. I was in the South Stand infront of Kane when he scored his first goal against Sheffield Wednesday. That was a top Orient side under Russell Russell he's got no hair but we don't care Slade

I am friends with Terrell Forbes and you can't underestimate Slades relationship with the players. They absolutely adored him. Slade was a good man manager of players / People and we saw the effect he brought to the team. Don't forget he had a small budget, wasn't supported by Hearn at key points and still got us to within one penalty of the championship.
I don't know Russell, but what I observed was a man at home, a man comfortable in his working environment and surroundings which allowed him to perform to a high standard and his team the same.

Magic times with Russell truly maximising players. Was beautiful. Curtis Woodhouse always hails him as best manager and in particular man-motivator he ever played under. And that’s a tough man to motivate, literally.
