I know this is a football message board, but sometimes a person comes along who you need to listen to. This man has seen done and been involved in things we will never get to hear about. Listen to this interview it’s truly riveting and inspiring. Over coming racism not only himself, but his father too after arriving in the wind rush generation, to seeing it when he wanted to join a certain unit as black people were not “allowed” to spending 12 years in the SAS.
He truly represents the best of us, and it’s people like him that keep us safe in our beds at night. It’s well worth watching and listening to this very humble man.

Great interview, what a positive guy he is.
I know someone who was in the SAS in both NI and Bosnia who spent a lot of time in hedgerows sh1ting and p1ssing into zip lock bags for a week or so.
He got so used to living outside, that even now he prefers to sleep on the floor, or take himself off with his sleeping bag and find a cosy ditch somewhere.

No I didn’t Thor,but I do know he served the same time/s as I did in the Province..Inspirational..For him,as a man of colour,to get the rank of Sergeant Major in the SAS at the time he served,he must have been exceptional! |

what years were you boxing in the army? My mate took Nigels Benns old title after he left. I joined in 77 and left in 89..I was in the same regiment as Benn..He was in 1RRF and I in 3RRF..And by all means he was an unruly soldier ..Especially when he knew he was getting out 😁 you will probably know my mate then as he was in 3RRF and served in the first gulf War. He went in straight from school, served in Ireland as well. You probably crossed over a couple of years. |
