Was Vic Halom a record signing at the time ? I seem to remember it vaguely 🤔 I think he was a “ free” from Charlton tbh Ron. He left us for £35k to go to Fulham. So again, canny bit of business.👍 According to my Bible.....The men who made Leyton Orient football club, 2002 written by Neilson N Kaufman to quote ''Leyton Orient paid only £3000 for him in October 1967 from Charlton Athletic. He was sold to Fulham for £35,000 in October 1968'' According to this book apparently Brian Clough was interested in signing him by putting a bid in for £50,000 but he contacted the Os too late when the deal with Fulham had already been done.
Brilliant book to buy and it gives a detailed record of every Orient player from 1904 to 2002 !! You can get it online from around £13 upwards sellers include Amazon and eBay.

👍- As I said den, a canny bit of business by the club. I think it was Bloomfield who sold Halom on in this instance.👍

Same goes for many really good players the Os flogged off, first one being Gordon Bolland, also Lucas and Lea. Also upset when they sold off Harry Gregory, a player I had followed since seeing him play in the reserves.

If Vic signed in 1967 then it was Dick Graham signing him.

If Vic signed in 1967 then it was Dick Graham signing him. It was tatty - as you’ll see from earlier posts. It was Jimmy B who sold him to Fulham
