On this board need to give their heads a wobble!
The other board is in meltdown and I understand social media the same.
All this negativity is not helping the team, the coaching team or the supporters as its infecting everyone.
We have to have a positive mindset or our negativity Will pass to the players.
We need to get behind the team and hope that they can turn this around and maybe the win today might be the catalyst for the revival to begin.

It's just a malaise and we need to get out of it.

Watching the highlights of this round there are more banana skins than the floor of the monkey enclosure at the zoo. The main thing is Orient are in the draw for the next round, not how they got there. Other issues can be sorted out on the training ground. Keep the faith ✊️ coyos

Whilst I sway towards the positive approach, I was thinking about the “team” and the calibre we have and I summarised it quite simply. Our L2 team was and is considerably better than our L1 team. Whether it be squad or first team 11. We are weaker in both aspects and for me that’s really worrying. Include the fact that we don’t own half of our current squad and our best (and only really quality player) we have in the team will be out of contract at the end of the season and IMO aren’t astute enough to get a decent fee for him in the window. Worth mentioning we do not have a contracted GK or a ST in the team.
I’m concerned.

I did, but I thought it through and being negative is not going to help anyone.
At work I’m head of finance, we have a team of 20, I cannot be negative, I’ve got to lead and inspire people to be at their best. When I’m coaching, I have to be positive and lead by example and develop these young men not only as footballers, but guide them to take the right path in life. I’m a positive person in life, always looking for the positive, how it can be better, how it can be improved. Negativity (very rarely) does not enter my head, any problem I face there is a solution to the issue at hand.
I am quite relaxed about where we are right now, not overly happy as it could be better in many different ways or at least in our perception it can be. If I were in the club I would be asking questions of everything we do from a football side of things. Is the scouting network good enough? If not how can we improve it? Is the Dof operating at the level required? If not why not? Can he be supported or do we need to take a different direction? From a financial perspective, have we given the football side enough to function at league one level? Has the money been invested wisely? Did we do enough homework? Do we move too slowly? What can be improved? Are the commercial side bringing in enough revenue? How can that improve? And on it goes. Lots of questions.
One question which has not been asked by anyone and I’ve pondered it a few times now. Ling brought in McCormack and it would appear on the outside like this was his appointment. McCormack said this in his initial interview where he was called out the blue by ML. I don’t know if he’s any good, he sounded good when interviews by the podcast guys. He might be the right appointment. However, last season Darryl was brought in as a set piece coach and it seemed that RW was not happy about that, and our up turn in form was when he left the club. I don’t think that was a coincidence either. Is the same situation playing out now? I do think MH has been a big loss, and do wonder if all is out of kilter due to ML’s appointment. Now I may be wrong, but it would certainly go some way to answering what’s wrong off the pitch.

I think the fans support, including season ticket sales has held up pretty well given our home results last season and this and too many mediocre performances. Any negativity emerging is 100% down to the team. Want it to improve, the answer is with the club. Give us something to support and we will. We are desperate to see something worth getting excited about. plenty of straw clutching going on right now.

As Don Revie used to say,"if you get a home draw and you don't win,you deserve to go out of the fa cup. Balls in our court. Get to round three, prize monies, possible TV money. Then enough to pay wages for a striker to keep us up. Wwllens must stop this multiple subbing in the second half of games. It hinders more than helps.imo

Or even they fielded their reserves. However a home draw against a non-league team is very winnable, and should be won. A good cup run for a club like Orient is a godsend. A trip to one of the noisy neighbours on TV in 5th round would be ideal. Unlikely to be shown on TV prior to that unless one of the top ten visit Brisbane Road.

3 matches stand out: Walsall, Kettering and Wealdstone.
But I doubt if Walsall will be shown and Wealdstone, because of its Orient connection, unlikely.
They may go back to there old flames Salford, now what is the saying?

They may go back to there old flames Salford, now what is the saying? The Salford bubble has burst. Less interest from the class of 92 and their billionaire backer has stepped away after 10 years, with the club owning him £18m. Doubt he will see any of that back. They just never drew the crowds. Wrexham on the other hand have just got new billionaire backers alongside the Hollywood owners. Glamour club. The cup exit won’t bother them if they make the Championship with the finances to keep them there. Can see Stockport being of interest. Blackpool vs Birmingham has to be favourite, but will Brum get two rounds in succession?

I understand the club earned £45k in prize money for getting through Round 1 and could earn an additional £75k if we get past Oldham. So a potential £120k windfall and the possibility of a lucrative third round tie. As said above that could be very valuable in our straitened financial position and give the fans something to sing about too.

We need to get behind the team and hope that they can turn this around and maybe the win today might be the catalyst for the revival to begin. Absolutely agree. Criticism is justified but hysteria is not. I've seen some comments to the effect that this is the worst Orient team they have ever seen. It makes me smile. Either these are 12 year olds or they are people with the memories of goldfish. Supporting the team is in fact all we can usefully do. The answers need to come from the staff and players. A couple of good results would turn the fans mood around.

We've been spoiled in winning 2 championships in 6 years. We have no divine right to win a game of football, you have to earn it.
Trouble is some of our fans seem to think it's our right to win. Its not.
Spurs fans suffer with this delusion, I truly hope we are not going down this pathway.

Criticism is justified but hysteria is not. The answers need to come from the staff and players. Agree 100%. I’ve said before that this team is good enough to stay up but not too good to go down. People who relentlessly criticise individuals and seek scapegoats don’t help. Neither do those persistent cheerleaders who pretend everything is working just fine. As you say, the staff and players have to provide the impetus necessary.👍
