I think I have too much time on my hands. Heinz Beef broth soup. Now, I always thought Products were named from the list of ingredients in the highest numerical order. Companies now ignore that and name products from what they want to sell you.
For example, The Heinz beef broth soup you would expect the main ingredient to be .... Beef? Not Heinz though, beef is expensive, Water and Pearl Barley isn't, 9%, next is Potatoes 7%, Carrots 7% Then the much-vaunted Beef 6%. followed by a load of odds and sods with no % volume given. Think I'll go back to Campbell Soup now

There's some excellent soup recipe books around at car boot sales. £1 each, could save you a fortune in tinned soup, enhance your evening's experience (cooking and then eating) and impress your friends. The other half made three nights worth of pumpkin soup recently. Delicious with wholemeal bread. PS: Making your own soup would reduce the time on your hands too.

I envy people who can cook. All those herbs and spices but how to use? Mind you Christmas on the way so the annual Dundee cake be beckons.

Highly recommend having a go at making your own soup. Lots of good, simple, recipes, you can control the ingredients and they taste much nicer!

Cannot take anything with herbs and spices, some vegetables as well.I like black pepper and English mustard and when cooking a joint or chicken just use salt and pepper.Love leeks and onions but they dont like me.
