Evans whinging again about the loss of big players.
2 minutes gone and Rotherham had three chances to cross and each time they have quickly. Barnsley 1 chance to put the ball in and did quickly.
No messing about thus far. Evans moaning about a tackle. What a surprise.

Rotherham struggling this season despite signing lots of players early in the summer and supposedly signing quality players.I still think they will come good but it shows what a difficult league this can be anyone ca beat anyone on their day

Tonight’s game a case in point, not seen a great deal of quality but two teams who want to get forward quickly. Haven’t seen much that is better than us in this game other than pace going forward.

14,000 people at Barnsley, 20,000 at Watford, biggest gate of the evening was 22,000 to see Arsenal women play Brighton. There's money to be made there.

The woman's football at top level is heavily subsidized by their parent clubs. True but it's a pittance compared to the EPL. Lucy Bronze gave a interview today on one of the tv news programs. She said only around 1% of the women players get decent wages and she is one of those lucky ones but even so she does not splash out on expensive things. Lucy said that the top women players get a fraction of the wages in comparison to the men's wages. Also the ticket prices for women's matches are very low in comparison in comparison to the men's matches.

The women's game is very young, does not yet have the following of the mens game. Tickets are dirt cheap, charge premier league prices and not one but family will go. The game is growing, but equal pay is many years off. The journey is underway, but let's not talk about equal pay or conditions when they really don't bring a lot to the table yet. In time they will have to stand on their own two feet, but that time is many years away. I'm not trying to be controversial, just being real as to where they are right now.

I agree with what you say and although the tv hypes up the women's game a lot and the tv programmes give presenters jobs to women who are ex footballers to comment on the football games of both men and women it will be a long time ( if ever ) before it gets to be anywhere near the level of men's football.

England footballer says 99.9% of female players couldn't retire on their salaries Chelsea right-back Lucy Bronze is taking on Liverpool on Sunday, followed by Manchester City next week. Saturday 9 November 2024 11:10, UK Lucy Bronze speaks to Sky News England footballer Lucy Bronze has told Sky News that 99.9% of female players couldn't afford to retire and live off their earnings. The Chelsea player, 33, said that while she has been "smart with my money" and could afford to "retire and live on my investments", most in the women's game can't. When asked if a female player can afford to retire, Bronze said: "The 1% probably can. If you're smart with your money and live a certain kind of lifestyle, then there's potential. "I don't live a crazy lifestyle with crazy cars or houses. So I could retire and live on my investments. "I've been smart with my money, I've paid off student loans throughout my career. "I know I've been successful in teams with a lot of money… I'm probably in that top per cent." But the right-back added: "Probably 99.9% of women's players… you have to think about life after football." It comes after former England captain Steph Houghton told the BBC on Friday she was only paid £4,000 a year at Arsenal. news.sky.com/story/england-footballer-says-99-9-of-female-players-couldnt-retire-on-their-salaries-13251006
