Hi, Seeing as the forum is proving quite popular, i've bought the domain name easteasteast.londonIt's just a bit tidier and seems like a better name than just the 'Unofficial Forum'. All you bookmark links should still work, and in a few days time easteasteast.london will work too. I tried to register becchetti.out but it wouldn't let me. |

Not wishing to appear rude but - are you funding all this by yourself MungO? I know it costs more than fairy dust and everyone needs a hobby etc but....do boarders need to chip in?

Nice of you to ask..! It's not costing much to run in all honesty, the forum is free and it's hosted by proboards, so i don't have to pay for a server, upgrades and all that malarkey. Unfortunately because it's a free service, they run adverts on the boards. There's two ways of dealing with the adverts.. one is that we all run an ad-blocker on our web-browsers, the other is to go 'ad-free' for the princely sum of $6 (£3.40 according to my statement)for 50,000 page views. I bought the domain for two reasons.. one was because i wanted a .london domain name, and secondly i thought that easteasteast.london was quite creative for someone of little creativity  How can you help? I think that you might all have the option to purchase some ad-free for the forum. The link might be at the top of the forum, near the admin or settings bit if you have one (it's under admin, upgrades, ad-free for me). As a guide, 50,000 views a month (for members only), takes about 20 days to use up (depending on usage, away matches take up lots of views, home matches not so much as most of us are there, sacking managers and having tyrannical owners beefs up the numbers as well). That's why you might find towards the end of the month adverts might suddenly appear. I'm not asking for any help though, i'm quite happy to stick in my £3.40 a month for 50,000 ad-free views. But if you do want to help out, please help yourself! |

The last time I was part of a forum that felt as "comfortable" as this, it eventually folded because the owner came to feel she was doing the lot for a group that she eventually came to view as a bunch of whingeing bastards and pulled the plug. As Orient fans we have a head start on the "whingeing bastards" front already so was just concerned about the potential for overload bit. And yes, well done on nabbing the name. |

Found it, I think.
You have to log out first and then there is an ad banner along bottom or top with a space to click to remove banner. Remove banner and you are invited to buy Ad.Free for $8.

Good job Mungo. I' guessing that my obscure foreign ISP means that advertisers have no interest in me.
It's a bit sad that more people don't use that shout box thingy during games. A few of us tried to populate it but without a lot of success.
