What is the problem with the team? As individuals they are good players, but they are not playing as a team. I have tried to analyse it and it seems to me that a big fault is the players are not moving into open spaces ready to take the ball. Cox until recently was the exception. Lisbie (in the good times) was another who was available by pushing his back into the defender and taking the ball on his chest.. Dagnall tries but gets little support. I am the first to say I am no expert/analyst and I do not know if this is the style of play the manager wants or the players just don't want the ball. I suspect Henderson, Plasmati and McAnuff are players who are used to being fed the ball and not having to go looking for it. We need somebody to sort it out damn quick.

Good question Endeavour and if you stay long enough you will probably get 20 different answers, who all want to manage Orient! My answer starts with the club organisation and then the appointment of managers.I think the players are having trouble understanding the systems that Liverani and previous managers have tried to install in the team and since day one the lack of pace is alarming. That might change a bit once we get used to using Hedges as our outlet and players get to support him in the attacking half but the main problem now is that confidence is very low and we all know what happens in that case, nothing goes right and our luck is non existent. I don't think the players like playing for Liverani and I do believe we will go down.

Added to the above comments I think that another main issue is that we've not had an established team. When injury was the problem at the start of the season it was understandable, but as time went on and the results went against us, I think knocks that players would probably have ignored, started to hurt more. I'm not suggesting that they deliberately were swinging the lead, but just that psychologically you're far more likely to be eager to play on a winning team. So when we lost players to serious injuries early on it just tipped the scales towards that mindset far more quickly.
Add the uncertainty that everyone was feeling about the future of the club in the several weeks following the takeover, the run of different gaffers who probably all wanted something different, the language barrier, new faces being brought in with obviously higher wages who then haven't gone on to deliver to their potential, and you've got a team that seriously needs to be built up from scratch again with a stable core of players who can build their confidence in themselves and each other up again. Midway through the season - just bloody perfect! ...and there's no way on earth I'd want the hassle of wanting to manage the O's! It's stressful enough being just a fan!

The only real compensation I can see to all this is if Scumend stay down, Barnet come up,then at least we will get a couple of derby's next season

MaylandOs, if it is not sorted we will slip straight down div. 2. I would not bet on us beating Southend on our current form.

For me, Eandevour has it spot on. I don't see many games but the one live on SKY and the full match replays we get from time to time leads me to the same view. We have good players but when the ball is at your feet and none of your teammates are available, all you can do is lump it up or give it back to the keeper (so he can lump it up). If you get caught in possession because you're looking for a pass then you look bad. Why is it like this?
