It's nice to have an Orient fan in Bob Mills on Talksport every week don't get me wrong. But he stands in the East Stand and therefore is a - in my opinion - waste of space and I would prefer if he moved to another stand so I don't have to listen to his ramblings about life in the East Stand on national radio.

Sorry kbola I don't quite get it.Is it because he is close to where you sit,or you don't like being in the East stand? What does he ramble about.

No I like Bob Mills but I don't think he should promote the East Stand - it is not a good stand. I stand in the South Stand. It is a good stand. I like it.

Hey kbola the East Stand was decent back in the Day
I watched my first Orient game in the East with my Dad and Grandad and it was standing we used to stand almost adjacent to the South
I still look at that stand with some affection though I do agree if they cannot knock it down they should at least give it a lick of paint as it is looking a bit desolate now

That may be true Lexi O but Lloyd-Webber sits in the South Stand so it must be the place to see and be seen!

I used to stand by the players tunnel, just behind Charlie Hasler. There used to be a few of us,the 2 Lens, big Dave(who used to go round everyone handing xmas cards out)Phill often used to bring the cakes in and we all shared the coffee.Charlie used to be a bloody nuisance when he stood up blocking about 12 fans view but in them days he was a bit of a prima donna!!!!!!!

My Dad (who was 50+ years a supporter) took me when I was 2 years old in 1982 against a New Zealand XI. I actually remember it, we were in the North and I was swinging on the crash barriers for the most part.
In the 80's we were always in the West, unless a Millwall, Birmingham or Welsh team turned up, then we'd try for the East as there was always trouble. They'd infiltrate the stand and it'd all kick-off.
And so we remained in the West Stand until they demolished it and we headed to the South. Then my old man passed away and i've remained in the South.
I've tried the West a few times, but it doesn't hold an atmosphere at all as the roof is too high and you're not really covered from the elements.
Never been in the new North stand. What facilities do they have?

Do they actually sell ice cream in the North Stand? They must do, pointless advertising otherwise.

And this just pops up on twitter.. So at the bottom of the picture is the East Stand, South to the left, North to teh right and the West at the top. The score centre would be at the top of the pic where them fields and tennis courts are.

What a rubbish ground, what non-league no hopers play there? Only joking, what year is that about do you think?

I don't ever rememner them tennis courts so maybe early 80's? But i think more early 90's.
I do remember that playground in the top left corner. There used to be a park there and we used to park on the road where the travellers now inhibit.

I used to play tennis on those courts and to the left was a gravel football pitch. Do you remember that further back behind those tennis courts was the rubbish sorting dump and how that used to stink with the wind in the right direction. If you look at the picture you can clearly see the join in the east stand(south end).I had some newspaper clippings about the stand being bought off some other club and erected on the end of the south stand to increase capacity to accommodate 1st div football.Happy days, good memories.

Isn't the rubbish place still there ? Wasn't the stand was bought off of Mitcham ? And further over the top left hand corner was The Beaumont Club that was the first football team i played for.
