Mine, and to be honest will never forget, is:-
Southend United v Leyton Orient semi final second leg, last year.
Never felt so down after a game as that.

Yep that was a horrible feeling even after losing the first leg, i had no doubt that we wouldn't lose the tie

That was nothing compared to the 2 play off finals , i have to admit to shedding a tear or 2 at both games .

I found the Blackpool game harder to take as we was 1-0 inside a minute and i still think if the Jabo chance that hit the post had gone in we would have won. The Scunthorpe game was a gutter but it was a dire match and we never looked liked winning.

Orient 1 - 1 Aston Villa. A win required to go up to the old first division. How heartbreaking was that? After all these years, I still get upset thinking about it.

I was there, Villa had nothing on this game yet played as if their lives depended on it. Mind you, judging by the following season, what would've happened to us if we'd gone up? Another new record?

I,ve seen a lot of dross at Brissy, and plain dire games but I to remember queuing to get into the west stand to see us play Villa(30000+) and having to watch Villa hanging on to their lead. Villa's Ray Graydon especially played several back passes to his keeper from the half way line(unheard of in those days). But I also have to admit the drive back from Cardiff, with four in our car and no one talking, was horrible to take.

Plymouth away on the supporters coach to a terrace with no roof and torrential downpour and we lost 5-0. I had a chest infection for a month after. For some reason this cut deeper than the play off finals I think it was the realisation that no matter what happens Ill still go away games and the inherent loyalty I felt disturbed me lol

This.
Mickey Bullock's header Two minutes from the end was going right in the top corner until Jim Cumbes the Villa keeper dived backwards and across and clawed the ball out from right under the crossbar, The best (and most gut wrenching) save I have ever seen. I was inconsolable for weeks afterwards and like Celtient I still go cold at the thought of how close we came.
Carlisle who went up instead of us were top of Division One after two games the following season but ended up being comfortably relegated.

Thought I was the only person ever to remember that save, unbelieveable, and then I'm sure the ref added on about 7 minutes injury time and despite 30000+ fans willing that ball into the net it just never happened. Villa always left a bad taste in my mouth for a long time after that. Scunny play off final was also a hard one to take.

Mine was my first orient game, was the cup game vs dag and red, when the penaltys count I think was 13-14 or something like that, rubbish result, but the last min goal to force injury time and the crazy penaltys count makes it a night to remember.

I always liked the 4-0 hammering of Sheffield Wednesday at home a few years ago. Everything went right that day. I have only been following Orient for the last 10 years but my first game was a 3-1 defeat to Mansfield Town so I will always remember that because I liked something about the experience as I came back. I will never forget being 3-0 down to Gillingham with 10 minutes to go and Lockwood scored a hattrick.

Another game for me was away to Stoke City at the old Victoria Ground I was playing for the Orientear fanzine team then and we notched up a very memorable 2-1 win
Orient played Stoke off the park that day and where winning 1-0
3 minutes to go on comes Mark Stein for Stoke and the little so and so scored what I have to say were 2 beautifully taken goals hence we lost
I sat on the terrace for a good 15 minutes trying to come to terms of the defeat
Like him or loathe him Mark Stein was a quality player and striker

Ha ha Mark Stein I remember how excited we all were when he signed for Chelsea for the (then) amazing fee for Chelsea of £1.5 Million.
He did score I think 7 games in a row but otherwise was a bit pony.

For me, the Scunthorpe playoff was the biggest disappointment. Beforehand I was sure we would win, but we never got going in that first half. And considering we were at Wembley the occasion was a pretty massive flop too. Instead of enthusiastic O's fans I was surrounded by massed ranks of silent Arsenal and Spurs supporters who apparently have us as their 'second team' but couldn't raise a cheer if their lives depended on it.
As for the Villa game, we'd been very poor ever since Christmas and struggled badly, so I had no great expectations as to the final outcome. The amazing thing was that we still had a promotion chance at all going into that game.
