Long journey. 13 hour round trip.
Let me start by saying the wind played a MASSIVE part in this game. It made good players looks distinctly average and what probably see Rotherham over the line was they were better suited to it than the O's. Not physical at all, but just stronger for the conditions.
Alnwick - 6 - Couldn't make up his mind to come out or stay on his line, but with the wind it's hard to judge, maybe could've come out for the first, but agsin it was swirling all over the place.
Omo, Clarke, Baudry & Cuthbert - 6 - All got caught out with the wind on more than one occasion. Clarke's pass to Dagnall for the cross for the goal was sublime, but only cos it caught on the wind and threw their defence out.
Cox & Moses - 5 - Goal aside Moses and Cox didn't look at the races. We rely a lot on James pinging the ball to either of them, instant control and attacking the flanks. But James couldn't ping it today and therefore the ball wasn't getting out wide quick enough. When it did get out wide it was pedestrian and their defence were back in shape. It wasn't a day for fast counter-attacking football.
James - 5 - Done nothing really wrong or right, the conditions wasn't suited for him.
Vincelot - 5 - Done his usual all over the pitch running but with nobody to pick up the balls it was pretty worthless.
Simpson - 5 - We kept going long to him, but he struggled in the air as the ball was all over the place, nowhere near as bad as everyone is making out and nearly got lucky with a couple of efforts.
Dagnall - 5 - Reads the same as Vincelot, plenty of effort, but he thrives on through balls and they weren't gonna happen today. Great assist from a hopeful punt from Clarke.
Bartley - 6 - We improved when he came on for James, more industrial and probably what the game needed.
Mooney - 5 - Didn't have much impact. Nearly slipped Dagnall in i think.
Loza - N/A - Didn't touch it.
I'd probably rate the Rotherham team about the same. Nobody stood out and every player on the pitch looked league two at best.
Gutted about the result, we should've punted it long in the closing stages and settled for a draw, but to our credit we tried to play out of trouble, lost it and Revell of all people has hit a blinder. Arsehole.
