My only hope is that we join them on the OS in the near future. Best thing that could happen to our club. IMHO.

Worst, IMHO. Best thing that can happen is that we go up to the Championship, Hearn sells to some know-nowt Asian businessman with more money than sense, the new buyer sees potential Premiership, invests in Brisbane Road by redeveloping the East Stand to a 8,500 capacity two-tier stand (3,500 seating on top, 5,000 standing below) giving us a 13,000 capacity ground and we perpetually dally in the play-offs, occasionally popping our head up into the Prem just to get the parachute payments. We will not have Bovril lids, though - sometimes you've just got to keep a modicum of attainability in one's dreams.

To be fair most I have heard are not happy about moving to such a large, empty stadium but they like the idea of pots of cash from the sale of Upton Park.

How much do you think Upton Park site is worth? Some years ago Colchester Council were trying to sell Layer Road, the old Colchester football ground for £4 million, but after 3 years it was finally sold for 1.5 mill. to a property developer who built about 50 houses on the site, although Colchester Council had assured everybody there would be a care home medical centre or possibly a school .
I know it is difficult to compare West Ham site with The Colchester site as regards value but I guess about the same size and although Karren Brady is promising to "re-generate" the area with open spaces retail outlets etc. the bottom line is that it will be developed with as many residential units as possible. So what is the site worth to a developer?

I'm a developer. I'll give you £50 for it. And I'll throw in a free bespoke web services SOAP interface for an XML schema of your choice.

Probably be packed to the rafters with flats/apartments it is not going to be some stylish newbuild I assure you. Regeneration normally translates as "as many people as possible paying rental income to greedy landlords and their parasitic agents" Is any of the sale money going back to the public purse I for one think moving to Olympic Stadium would rip the heart out of the club how demoralising playing in front of a sparse crowd every week. I wish AndyLloydWebber would buy us would someone email him and say how great we are maybe his sibling if he is reading this
