How good was Barry Hearn ? nailed it in my opinion. Karren Brady came over as a soulless hard nosed business women. Hearn/O's 1 Brady/Mockney utd 0.

Any main points of discussion?

www.parliamentlive.tv/Embed/GeneralEmbed.aspx?meeting=13700Hearn really did well today, Brady looked scared and didn't want to reveal too much because of the Judicial Review. I've always been against the move to the Olympic Stadium but after his brilliant speech today I'm not so sure. All the proceeds from the sale of Brisbane Road to go back into the club. He's proposing £500,000 a year rent in League One, £1 million in the Championship and £5million if we ever get to the Premier League. West Ham are only paying £2 million a year with the current deal.

Brady hid behind the judicial review, she simply had to answer the question " Are West Ham United happy in principal to ground share with Leyton Orient" she did not want to say no and decided on at least Four occasions to refer that question to the JR. The committee were obviously exasperated by her refusal to answer the question.
Hearn worked the room brilliantly and I thought clearly won over Three or Four of the committee members, but it was also obvious that some were really only worried in financials and knew little of the backround behind LOFCs claim to be included in the legacy.

Yes, Bazza did well but a couple of points..... He said West Ham's prospective occupation of the O.S. would have a serious detrimental effect on our already small gate, possibly reducing our support base and finances to a point where within 5 seasons we could look a bit non-league. Would this effect not occur if we, too, were in the O.S.? Nobody seems too sure, do they? So should I take it that the club would leave its home at Brisie in the unsubstantiated hope that more people would come to the new shared stadium? Some gamble that would be! Then again, staying put is a big gamble too, isn't it? Bazza reckoned that more away fans would be attracted to go and see their team at the O.S. Fair point. But what about our own fan base? How can that be made to grow? Could we come to see differences settled with the West Ham fans? Would there develop a core of (better off) fans, loyal to the stadium, who turned up every week to watch one team then the other. Come to think of it, that's what I and my school mates used to do in the old days. Or would our lot dwindle away as the novelty wears off and a taste for the Premiership develops? Who knows? One thing we do know is that Bazza's the "Greatest Ring Master on Earth" and he can certainly run a circus. Perhaps we should let him do his stuff and relax. What do you think?

In Hearn we trust let him do the deal and enter the O's to another level.

Would this effect not occur if we, too, were in the O.S.? Nobody seems too sure, do they? I believe his argument to this, would be that the stadium itself would entice more people along. Like myself going to the Ricoh Arena last year. The Olympic Park is also being heavily marketed as one of the 'goto' places when visiting London. The chances are some would probably goto a match if one was on. Then again, staying put is a big gamble too, isn't it? Basically it's s*** or bust. We plod along and hope things improve, or we 'go for it'..

My only concern is our crowd, yes first year or two many people will come just because it's the olympic stadium, but then after that we may struggle if we are still league 1,

I think that's where the money from Brisbane Road would go towards. Getting us and keeping us in the Championship.
I think that the way how we're run, staying in the Championship would be relatively simple. Getting there is gonna be the hardest part.
