Why do we always kick off towards the South Stand? This season I've counted only one game (I think) against Carlisle where we've been attacking the TJ in the second half I think we should do it more often. Is it based on a coin toss?

If you check season ticket sales, you'll find that the North Stand is really the home end. The TJS has far more casual fans. Most of them only turn up to drink in the bar.

I would prefer to kick off towards the North Stand because I sit in the South and would have a close up view of the winning goals in the 2nd half.
The South Stand must be the "home" stand.

No. Do an experiment: go to the Orient ticket site. Check out the available tickets for the last home game showing (unless that's Brentford). You'll find that there are loads of free spaces in the TJS, even though it holds almost exactly the same number as the North. This is because the TJS has the most fickle fans. If it has the most fickle fans, it can't be the 'home' end, can it? The home end has to have the most steadfast fans, so it has to be the North.

I guess you sit in the North.
I'm not trying to get into an argument on what's the 'better stand' though. But the North is where all the concessions go. Family's, Under 18's and kids, I'm not disputing that it has a lot of season ticket holders.
But the TJS is where people make the most noise that could drive the team home

The North Stand has the most cabbies, so actually we're more likely to drive the team home.

Historically the South is the "home". It is the only named stand. Tommy Johnston a legend.

In my living memory, the South Terrace was actually the away end.

Sorry, Endeavour, but that use of 'historically' is simply inaccurate.

In my living memory, the South Terrace was actually the away end. Yep spot on OMP the old South stand and where the away fans sit now bar the bottom bit which was standing for Orient fans it's where I first went with my Dad and Grandad

I sit in the South Stand Season ticket holder and don't mind which end the goals go in as long as we win
I suppose when Orient are kicking towards the North second half there's perhaps more Orient fans to cheer the boys on etc as they have East/North/West
Only a guess though don't slap me for my useless geographical references haha

going back 40 years always stood behind the goal in the south stand ,whitch was the home end ,north stand was away end east stand was sitting for home fans, there was standing in front of the east stand for home supporters, and the west stand was standing, and then converted to sitting, but then as now sometimes they wanted to move you not as often as now though, and seating you could sit wherever, hey gonna start a thread on this subject .

Historically the South is the "home". It is the only named stand. Tommy Johnston a legend. Are you forgetting about the fantastically named "Baskin Robbins Family Stand"

Interesting. I'd have gone for the East Stand as the historical home stand.

They moved the away end around quite a lot, segregation wasn't like it is now.sometimes they had the whole of the west side! I think they moved the away fans back to the south because it was easier for the old bill to march them across the rd into the old carpark where the coaches were
