Reported tonight Sir Tom Finney has died. Sad. Orient play Preston tommorrow. ReportAs of 2200 still not sure if this is true or not but loads of sources reporting it. |

Sad but obviously inevitable,he was 91 after all,bloody good innings.Not a good weekend to be playing PNE.

My Grandad used to tell me that Tom Finney was actually a lot better than Stanley Mathews
RIP to a great player and a fantastic role model for Preston North End lets hope the Orient fans tomorrow do us and PNE proud by observing the 1 Minute silence/applause etc Tomorrow

Who cares about the result tomorrow, just have a great day out, sure the atmosphere will be a mixture of celebration of their greatest player and sadness. Wish I could make it even more now.

No totally MungO. I am not trying to be disrespectful to Tom Finnney.
He will be remembered and celebrated tommorrow I am sure.
However, he was a very old man and passed away. I disagree that it is only a football match because even Tom Finney would have accepted that football is everything and I am sure he would want to see a decent match in which Orient win (well maybe not)!
