I went it was ok very relaxed.
Players,management and Barry Hearn chatting to people and having photos taken.
Started off with a training session,then crossbar challenge which was amusing took about 15 mins for anyone to hit it and Jake Larkins was first.
Then there was photos in the North Stand with the first team for anyone who had paid £20,then finished off with autographs.
Have to say Dean Cox looked in pain when training and stopped half way through and did some one on one with the fitness coach and he didn't take part in the crossbar challenge.
Lisbie,Batt and Lasimant took no part in the training.

Squad looking threadbare already. Any gossip? Hopefully two players coming in. Spoke with Russell. He is extremely happy with the players we have managed to tie down and believes the core of the team is more than capable of competing with the big teams in the league. He wants a Centre mid and a Winger/striker, players that offer versatility. Looking at the loan market to see who is available. Concerned that a few knocks/suspensions could really affect our team. Happy with pre-season and the players fitness. Feels Cox will fall just short of being fit for the Carlisle match. Couldn't say when he would anticipate him being back, knee's are complicated and doesn't want to risk further/longer term injury. Hearn 'Promotion is the aim'. Very positive, absolutely gunning for a crack at promotion this year. Really wants to get into the Championship, whilst there is no certainty over the meeting last week with the forum over the Olympic Site we are very much in a nothing to lose, plenty to gain scenario. If we don't get into the Olympic Park, then he plans to go after the Premier League as they would of breached their own rules. If promotion is made and the Olympic Stadium falls through, there was whispers of redeveloping the East stand. |

A loan/short term contract with the view to earn a long term contract with the club. So I would think it will be players from lower end Championship/high end League 1 clubs where they have been fringe players. |
