We seem to be the butt of other clubs jokes and seem to have gained this image 'Little Orient'. I'm not suggesting for a second that we are a big club. In the grand scheme of things comparing ourselves to the Premier League giants and 90% of the Championship clubs we are indeed 'Little Orient'. But I think our history fan base is comparable with most teams in the bottom two tiers. We have achieved more than a lot of clubs have in the bottom two tiers. I find it amusing how the media are always quick to return to default and write us off or just ignore us altogether even when top of the league. You can almost see the awkwardness of the people on the football league show when Orient win again, they don't know what to say. People think along the lines 'what are they doing there?' even though we have won this division outright before.
When we lost in the JPT at Stevenage a few of their fans while gloating about winning were comparing us to Accrington Stanley. Accrington Stanley?! I won't even bother with comparisons because there is no point. It's ludicrous. Particularly coming from a club like Stevenage. Is it because we have a different name? We sort of stand out we are not a Town, Borough or City, we are Orient a name that stands out.
I would say we are a pretty solid third tier club with the odd shout of 2nd tier football especially when looking at a lot of the clubs in L2 these days. When we were there before we competed with teams like Cardiff, Swansea, Hull etc. Now it's Morecombe, Dagenham and the aforementioned accrington.
The MK Dons match this season with the Laurie Cunningham day was a great day for this football club. It made me realise what a proud club we are with great tradition. Plus a great atmosphere and performance from the boys to top it off. It was a great way to doff the cap to our past. Does anyone think Orient are underrated by many as a football club?

I think you've nailed it saying we're a firmly established third tier team.
Hopefully this season will be a benchmark that establishes us a top half third tier team.
Wolves are a big club and the media seem to have a love-in with Brentford so yeah I suppose us at the top of the league does make it a bit awkward for the pundits.
Long may it continue!

I've noticed this since I have been going to watch Orient. The Football League show is the worst they always had Orient on last even if they won 5-0 and only this season they grudgingly put them on higher up the schedule. Often the Evening Standard will mention Barnet and even Colchester games and completely omit any mention of Orient. I don't think Bazza helps with his 'little' Leyton Orient spiel.

Yeah, football league show goes in order, we're generally one of the first...I always think they've given us good coverage and always mention the job Russ is doing, I've seen a few fans say that we never get a mention though, so maybe i'm easily pleased!!

Is Orient the butt of other clubs jokes ? Never heard that before. I would far rather be a supporter where I feel part of the club, like I do at Orient than be just one of a number of faceless supporters for a club like Man U or the Gooners. Big or small - My wife says size doesn't matter?

Absolutely right rizz22 and don't forget Russ was invited onto the football league show and did a really good job.

Big or small - My wife says size doesn't matter? I agree with all of this. But what I meant in the original post is we are a well established club of decent stature and history when comparing clubs in the lower divisions. Most fans of other clubs like Brentford and Peterborough especially seem to have the opinion that we have always been rubbish and always will be. But that isn't true. And more to the point what makes them so much superior? They have been equally as cack over a period of decades if not worse.

When I sit down at 10:30pm on Saturday night with my can of Tennants waiting for Orient I have to wait almost two hours and they even change presenters half way through!
