John Motson the voice of football well certainly in my lifetime has passed away aged 77. The man was a legend behind the Mike with his stats and sheepskin coat.

Betty Boothroyd, Labour MP, the first female Speaker of the House of Commons, has died aged 93. Before becoming an MP she was a dancer, part of the famous Tiller Girls and appeared at the London Palladium. A classy act and a very formidable woman. Rest in peace Betty.

A beautiful lady and a wonderful speaker who said her packet of cigarettes a day gave her that throaty booming voice.Remained single to devote her life to politics.A good picture in the DT showing her on a soapbox in 1952.
