Jack Sonni who was a guitarist in Dire Straits has sadly passed away aged 68. Just recently I was wondering after a song of theirs came on the radio in the car if they’d ever tour again, thinking what an event that would be and the many tens maybe hundreds of millions that tour would gross. An amazing band with Brothers in Arms is one of the greatest albums of all time, what an achievement to be involved with that. As a child I have vivid memories of Money for Nothing always being played on MTV. To have been a big part of musical culture and to leave a legacy like that, must be something to be proud of.
RIP as the cords of brothers in arms play in my head with those haunting guitars playing.

RIP Jimmy Buffett. I am not sure he was popular in England, but I don’t see why not. A singer who made a life out of the permanent vacation. King of the tropical themed kitsch and the simple songs many people here know by heart. If you like Wagon Wheel, then you’ll like Jimmy Buffet’s Songs You Know By Heart album. Bob Dylan said Buffet’s song He Went to Paris was one of the best and I agree.

RIP impressionist Mike Yarwood aged 82. Famous for his impersonations of political, sporting and TV personalities in the 60’s/70’s /80’s.

One of the best managers we've had his promotion winning team played some lovely football During his tenure he was the general factotum at Orient.Frank loved a winger,and yes he had a great style of play.So pleased he got the promotion he and the O's longed for. |

It seems the death of one of his band members, Keith Gattis, at the age of 52 was reported on Dwight's social media and - before you know it - everybody is dead. Ooops! |

I was gonna say R.I.P to my fruit flies but whenever I think that's the last one, another little blighter pops up. They seem to like my computer screen. What I do now is turn the screen off and put the kitchen light on so that they go to the kitchen window and terminate there. I really hate it when one lands on my nose.  PS: It only works at night. |

RIP Roger Whittaker.Germany considered him as a national treasure.A very intelligent man and very talented.
I read his obituary in the online DT and was surprised at what he achieved.The story of The Last Farewell was very interesting.Elvis himself praised the way he sang.

Illya Kuryakin (The Man From Uncle) and Dr Ducky Mallard (NCIS ) Scottish actor David McCallum has died aged 90.
He was an actor with a long career, playing many more rolls in TV and films such as Sapphire and Steel, the Colditz Story, the Great Escape.
He had a renaissance playing the medical examiner in the hugely successful NCIS series.
A great actor who gave a lot of enjoyment
RIP Ducky !
