Dagenham lad, anyone know what road in daggers he lived? Just curious.
Big shame you wasn't the England manager for a lot longer. I think most England football fans would agree with that.

Well I have cousins who are born and bred daggers.According to one of them Venables lived on Bonham Road..They grew up in Gay Gardens and still live there Just watched the Documentary on Sky for the second time about El Tel. A multi talented individual who because where he came from wasn't going to be put down by the Hooray Henry's that were around at the time. Left school at 15 to be an apprentice at Chelsea, the rest is history. I doubt if we see the likes of him again. This because of the environment of post war Britain was condusive to allow players of 15 to grow up quickly at a Pro club.

Well I have cousins who are born and bred daggers.According to one of them Venables lived on Bonham Road..They grew up in Gay Gardens and still live there I also had cousins in Lindisfarne Rd and Lucy Gardens (a banjo as they called them) that moved there from Wager St in Mile End (outside toilets and newspaper squares) just before they demolished their houses for flats. Lindisfarne Rd crosses Bonham Road, so close neighbours. Thanks for that. Jimmy Greaves used to live opposite Kingswood School (Hainault High) in Harborough Rd, Hainault. I knew his mum who used to shop in the CO-OP in Manford Way.
