Always in trouble was Tommy Doc. My early interest in footy tactics came about because of what he was doing at Chelsea In the early 1960s. A complete revolution in kit, boots and playing methods, his short passing game was a joy compared to the old 3-2-5 formations used up to then.

The old box record player in the corner, Pinky & Perky on the tele, flat sided subbuteo players.
Gerry And The Pacemakers were one of my favourites at the time, and still are.
RIP Gerry.

Tommy Docherty was Man Utd's manager when we played them in '74. We don't play them enough IMO. RIP Tommy. Was also Rotherham’s manager when we played them in 1968 - 3-3 draw at the O’s if I remember right.

Ex Man City player Colin Bell has died aged 74. Most under rated midfielder of his era IMHO. RIP.

You don't forget players like him if you're from that era.
RIP Colin.
