Belated remembrance of Peter Angell who died aged only 47 on 18 July 1979. Did a wonderful job for 10 years at the O’s as No 2 to both Bloomfield and Petchey - RIP Peter.

Must echo words on peter Angell. Refused chance to be Bloomfield's no2 at Leicester on much higher wages Because he loved orient. Refused to be orient manager when offered it said "managers get sacked, trainers go on forever" very wise words.

RIP John Mayall aged 90. Leader of renowned 60’s British band The Bluesbreakers and the man often credited with “ discovering” Eric Clapton . RIP John Mayall only saw him and the Bluesbreakers live once. In the late sixties at the University of Sussex May Ball. They were supporting act to Manfred Mann. Brought the house down when Manfreds electronic organ malfunctioned. The students started a riot throwing bottles at Manfred. John stepped in quelled the disorder by lending Manfred his equipment. Great band and person.

I dropped out of listening to popular music at a reasonably young age and was very selective on what I watched on tv.Became a constant radio fan listening mainly to talk on radio which covered a lot.Even used to have Radio 4 on all day. My point being I don't know sadly of many of the people who have died and put on this forum.I know how it feels when someone you have seen and listened to dies and are surprised how sad you feel.Mike Dickin was one and many of the old radio shows and the people on those shows. Probably now the worst I feel is when our own ex Orient players depart.Laurie Cunningham and Justin Edinburgh still bring that feeling to name but two.
