To get on the balcony I think you just need to befriend someone. Thought there is a raffle on Twitter that one the residents is doing for Tuesday night to watch the game from their balcony. £5 a ticket all money to charity winner gets to watch the game.

When the old tower blocks were behind the north/west end of the ground I often wondered what the view was like of the pitch. I kept thinking I've got to go up there but never did.
Anyone been up there?

Anyone been up there? An old school friend lived on the 2nd to top floor , but was on the other side Luckily his Sister's best friend lived on The floor above with a view & i got to see a reserve game from it when we bunked off 1 afternoon. Great view if you wanted to watch red dots move around a big green pitch , but terrible to identify a player let alone a number.

Thanks for the answer to that. I remember trying to work out the angles thinking they could only see say 3/4 or 75% of the pitch.
I was a bit gutted when they demolished them, but now I know. Could you see all of the pitch?
I went out with women who lived 2 storeys up in a flat at Shoeburyness and as close to the beach as possible. You've guessed it, what a bummer.

You could see the whole pitch , You just had to move to the other corner of the balcony if it went down the coronation gardens west side corner of the pitch .

I've waited a long time to find that out. The "You've guessed it, what a bummer" was referring to her flat facing the opposite side to the sea and absolutely nothing to do with going on holiday to Cyprus with her, coming back, collecting all her stuff and never seeing her again. I hired a scooter out , I was happy!

I also got to do something I've always wanted to do, go from winter conditions to summer via a plane ride. Totally snow covered fields everywhere, Gatwick had a horizontal snow blizzard going on. Pathos was a balmy evening and in the 70's all week. March.

My trip was mid 2000's and the temperature was in the 70's Fahrenheit, about 22 C +. I remember one bloke lit a fag up halfway down the Aeroplane stairs (I know how he felt) and walked across the apron puffing away. I don't smoke anymore (I vape) but I really miss that foreign fag smell in the terminal after getting off the plane. It made me think 'yeah' I'm abroad now, although the heat was a bit of giveaway before that.

Is getting a BJ on the plane going over make someone a member of the mile high club? Asking for a friend.
