It was me northeasto, one of the things I have commented on many times. What a waste the throw on is when we give it away so easily.I cannot recall how many times we have lost possession so easily at a throw on and the opposition have scored. The costly one was when Charlton beat us in the last minute in the FA cup a few years back. That goal was the result of a terrible throw from us. Just how many foul throws in a match does the ref and linesman let go.

There has been talk of doing away with throw-in’s and just having free kick’s. Not a bad idea as would make for a more attacking game with ballls being launched into the penalty box from the sidelines.

It would make giving away a throw in or kick in less of an easy option. It would it seems make a drastic change in the way a game is played out.

If coaches concentrated on coaching throw ins I'm sure it would be of benefit as it seems this part of the game as fallen by the wayside. It requires technique and upper body strength to launch a decent throw. Perhaps the new coaches see this action as old hat and no longer of significance.
