Very sorry he was sacked, nice genuine guy and Charlton legend. His best players sold without his consent and he had to rely on Liege rejects, academy players and league 1 players that remained.
Don't think the new owner has done himself any favour's with the fans and it seem Charltons future will be as a feeder club to Standard Liege, with below Standard (excuse the pun) going the other way from Liege.
How the mighty have fallen........................

Nice guy, but no evidence of being a capable manager. Too many think good players will be good managers. Sorry he was sacked but can understand that something had to be done and hope Charlton survive the drop.

He was only sacked so the new guy Riga could take over.
As said, Powell had stated the other day that he accepted that Charlton was now a feeder club to Liege and any decent prospects would be sold to Belgium.

Apparently they offered him a new contract last week, he signed it, and they they returned it back to him this morning unsigned and was told he was sacked.
That's not the way to do business.
