Don't get excited , we will either never see the lad or he will play a blinder, score a great goal and then be confined to the bench for the rest of his loan period. If slade had Ronaldo and messi on loan he would still go with simpson and mooney.

Slade is the best manager we have had in years , though the rest have been so dire that's not difficult. The problem with slade is his stubbornness and predictability , and that makes us vulnerable. Think about it, the reason our form has fallen away is that our play is too predictable, and because not one of this seasons signings (not inc omozusi who returned) strengthened the team we are forced to play the same tired players for over 50 games. Why on earth we didn't play loza and coulthirst is a mystery to anyone who saw their brief appearance against Carlisle , but that is consistent with his preference for willing runners over skillfull players like mpoko. Shame , because we were in a great position to get automatic promotion , but now we could well finish 5th and on current form who could be confident that we would beat any of Brentford, preston or Rotherham over 2 legs to get to the final.

I didn't think Ling was that dire But I do agree with you in the predictability teams know exactly what there up against and like you I would of loved to have seen more of Loza and Coulthirst as I said in a previous thread I personally like direct players who are going to terrify defences I don't think Mooney or Lisbie has that kind of bite to there game more hold it up till the other one takes 2 minutes to get into position it gets a bit boring Orient for me are more of a threat when they keep the ball on the floor, hoofball ie play it up high to Mooney and Lisbie is not getting results the last 3 out of 4 goals have been scored by Defenders say's it all really But we are still 3rd and I will carry on hoping so for me it hasn't been a bad season at all COYOS
