Another sacking and no doubt huge payout for Steve Bruce. Who will be the next club to do that with him? Could be his last hurrah?

Could well be so, He could always be an ambassador for the Bar coders where he originates from. A similar job to KJ I believe.

A friend is a WBA supporter and tells me things have been dire for a while and it isn't because the board have been mean with the budget, he places the cause squarely on Bruce's shoulders. There appears to be a movement to get Slaven Bilić back. As he's currently at Watford, there's a fair to middling chance he'll be available before too long.... probably.

Is that a first? Somebody sacks their manager after they beat us?

Back to Steve Bruce.... How on earth has such a useless individual always managed to walk into a job. He's been unsuccessful wherever he's gone, yet still clubs appoint him as their manager. The payoffs he's got must put him into the tens of millions of pounds Surely no one will want him now?

If you have a good agent and a contract that is nearly watertight it pays to fail it would seem. No worries about where the next meal is coming from or an Energy supplier on your case when a Bill is not paid. The little people will always get screwed. In the Business world if you are in a higher management position if you screw up but have at your disposal sensitive business information, the company wishing you to leave, I am told get you to sign a non-disclosure agreement about your work activities. This comes at a price usually a payoff to the person who fails in his position. I bet those P&O staff didn't get a payoff as they were probably quite proficient at their jobs when they were let go.

Looks like from this interview he got £2m pay off, a large donner kebab with extra chilli sauce. Bruce speaks.
Well you know

The payoffs he's got must put him into the tens of millions of pounds Surely no one will want him now? I don’t think that’s true. He has been very successful. 4 promotions from the championship and a fa cup runners up medal would suggest he gets some flak that is not deserved. I think he has over 1000 games in management and not a bad record. His last two jobs have not quite gone as well but to say he is useless is unfair. Also I think he is well known to be honest and a workhorse. He puts his all into football against some really horrible backdrops. Chairmen do like him and in no way do I think he is in it to get sacked for a payoff as some seem to think on here. He genuinely wants to do well but it hasn’t for a couple of years. I don’t think he will get another job to be honest as fans don’t want him and they have a lot of power but I think that’s a shame as he is not as bad as is made out. Hill city for instance could do alot worse than bring him back.

Managers usually get fired after being beaten by Orient.

McSheffrey given the tin tack at Doncaster. It strange Newport beat orient and the manager gets the sack Doncaster draw with orient snd he gets the sack I assume if we win at Carlisle they will not sack their manager as Carlisle are going quite well now . There does not seem to be much logic going on at other clubs at Director level.

There does not seem to be much logic going on at other clubs at Director level. Maybe too many over-ambitious wannabes with sharp knives under the board meeting table. Managers tend to live or die according to the short term (and mostly hidden) agendas of these people. It must be good to work for people like Travis & Teague but even they have a number of manager sackings on record.
