Slightly controversial but clear answers please and no personality issues ;ie;ownership--
In an ideal world would it benefit Orient to have a new ground. Many clubs have gone down this route and with Southend and Bristol rovers now having approval could O's do the same. But 1.would it benefit them 2How would it benefit them 3.where would you put it.

No. Brisbane Road is a perfectly good stadium. Much better facilities than alot of other League One clubs and capacity is about right because it is hardly going to fill up on a regular basis.
Leyton is perfect location, easy to access on public transport from all parts of London and near Stratford. If Orient ever moved out of London I would never go again.

Colchester's new stadium is terrible and many fans stopped going when they moved.

I would like to replace BR with a stadium like Rotherhams new yorker however probably impossible due to the flats. If you excuse the pun hearns antics at BR has left us pretty much snookered

Brisbane Rd I refuse to call it the Matchroom Stadium is a perfectly adequate ground in my opinion
I often wonder if in my lifetime I will sea the East Stand modernised
I think the ground as it is even with the flats could be modernised to cater for 12-15000
I think the facilities in the West could do with an upgrade toilets etc
I've never been in the North so can't comment
Am I right in thinking that bar the Supporters Club the South Stand is the only end with a Bar or has every end got it's own pub type thing?

Partially correct kbola but the east stand is a joke.Anyone who has been in there says it's like going back in time to the 50s and 60s.It's a carzy. My other half would not use the toilets as they stunk and were dirty, the blokes are just as bad and the catering over there is pitiful! So take a look at it kbola and tell me it's all OK. As far as Lexio's idea of making the east stand seat more I think it's a no go as the residents and council said they wouldn't do anything to shut peoples light out and make the whole place bigger.

Good location. I do wonder if we could get a two-tier on the east stand footprint as I suspect crowd revenue is one of our self-limiting factors

Well people complain that these new stadiums are bland and lifeless so the East Stand is like a bit of historical football going. If you don't like you don't have to sit there. I thought the stand at Bramall Lane was pretty 1960's and if you go to the East Stand at Stamford Bridge it is terribly old and crowded - horrible and look at the money Chelsea has so you can't have everything. Also, if its a problem just build a new East Stand - you don't need a whole new stadium because one stand is old.

Hey kbola, take it easy,I never suggested we need a new stadium,I only wanted to know how other people stood on the subject. We are a tiny club, probably only Dag&Red smaller so no super doper stadium for me but the east stand is a carzy and does need pulling down,if ever we can afford it!

No problem I'm not having a go. I get defensive when certain people from Harlow want Orient to relocate there because sorry but I ain't going to Harlow to watch the Harlow Wyverns or whatever they would be called and I bloody don't want to be sitting in the echo chamber Olympic Stadium with West Ham regalia all over the place

i think at the at the last meeting re the East Stand a few years back now if a new stand was built it would be actually lower in height so in fact it would enhance the residents lighting problems etc
The main concern to the residents at that time was the pulling down of the stand as apparently it is ridden with asbestos and the cost to the club was very close to 1 MIllion quid and because of the asbestos problem you are only allowed to do it in sections rather than all at once

Yes Lexio,I had read about the asbestos and cost of pulling it down as well as the extra size of the stand and light problem to residents.Do you know where the asbestos is. Is it in the sheeting or structure because either way it surely is a health hazard with the away fans in there stamping and kicking,in which case the council must have a grant available for removal of asbestos.

Wouldn't have a clue where the asbestos is possibly in the roof lining?
Even a lick of paint etc would make the East Stand a little bit better it seems to have been neglected for a lot of years
It was the first terrace I went to with my Dad and Grandad so I suppose the nostalgia is still there for me but something needs doing to it

Our current stadium is adequate - it's half empty even now, when we're doing well. If we want to expand, a properly developed east stand will do the trick. No flats, no offices and safe standing.
A proper stadium with atmosphere will even have them flocking from the Olympic Stadium.

I agree entirely.I just hope the people in and around Leyton do respond to good football or success,in an atmospheric stadium!!!

Comfort Break has it right. We don't need a new stadium.
A few consistent years of relative success like this season, keep on with the free season ticket offers plus attacking football and the crowds will come back.
You could have a super stadium like Darlington but cack football will see crowds dwindling.
