I've been watching people talking about the differences between the US and the UK on YouTube. Tyler Rumple, Ryan Wuzer, Reacting To My Roots, JJLA Reacts, are a few of my favourites. Other stuff I've been watching are George & Mildred, Man about the house, Doc Martin, Carry on films, In sickness and in health (Alf Garnett), Life on Mars, Red Dwarf. I think they've all got a 'May offend' attached to them. Stop the world, I wanna get off. Funniest bit of George and Mildred was when George said he prefers rolling his own and Mildred who was sex starved said tell me about it .

I've found Chuck, OMG I'm in love!! It's proper funny and the IMDB rating is spot on. Just finishing season 1 and I'm actually loving it and the main leading lady Yvonne Strahovski, well I think I'm in love!! Stunning and her chemistry with Zachary Levi is truly superb. If you want to smile alot and get a few heart tugs along the way, get on board. Just finished this series and it's the best thing I've watched all year. Sitting on a train laughing, people looking at me like I'm mad! Top quality. Now I'm thinking of watching Vikings, is this something to watch on a train? Is it appropriate cos I'm thinking it's gonna be hard-core in every sense. Any views on this series?

Well Vikings is an historical drama produced by the history channel and I’m in series five right now and it’s very good and well worth its high 8 rating on IMDb.
But tonight I’ve just watched The Grand Tour Sand Job and it’s absolutely superb, one of the very best they’ve ever done including top gear. It’s on Amazon Prime and you will be laughing your head off in some parts marvel at the scenery in others. A real feel good episode. It got my thinking as this is the penultimate episode, I was in my twenties when these three started on top gear as a trio, and all we have left is one more show later this year. Hammond was asked if this was the best one yet and he said no the last one is the best we’ve ever done. Still it’s something to look forwards to.

Been my usual boring self with what I watch.Addicted to a reading of John Keats Ode to a nightingale by an actor from Keats House.I did watch Snatch for the fourth time and laughed out loud.Violent and swearing in a cartoonish style. The cockney gangsters tea stained teeth offered me much mirth.

Yes it is a British film. Gerard Butler, Tom Hardy, Idris Elba, Thandie Newton, Mark Strong, Tom Wilkinson directed by Guy Ritchie same director as Snatch.
Another good British one is called The Gentlemen, again directed by Guy Ritchie starring Matthe McConaughey, Colin Farrell and Hugh Grant who is absolutely amazing in it.

If anyone is a true crime fan, American Nightmare on Netflix is very good. We just finished it last night. The first ten minutes seem absurd, but it is worth getting through. We’ve also finished the new season of True Detective. I had high expectations since Jodie Foster is in it, but it was just ok IMHO. If anyone is a fan of the movie The Thing with Kurt Russell, then it offers the same kind of atmosphere and a “who done it” plot.

Last night I watched Killers of the Flower Moon. Scorsese is my favourite director and De Nero my favourite actor.
Now this film is long at three and a half hours, but the story deserves it. Its about the worst of human behaviour, greed, murder and genocide of the native Americans. Very powerful film.
I didn't know this but the Native Indians actually call the USA - Turtle Island. As they were actually there a long time before Eurpeans arrived.
Try to watch it as its an absolute masterclass in film making. It's a true story as well.

The film has so many good qualities, but I especially appreciated the casting of Natives in those roles. If you are interested in Native American history, there are lots of great resources online and the book the film was based on is fantastic. If you want to see more great Native actors I would suggest the work of the Oklahoma Band of Cherokee member Wes Studi. He has been in films like Heat, the Last of the Mohicans, and Dances with Wolves among many others. Last of the Mohicans would be a good one to start with to see how powerful an actor he is. He is one of the best American actors period.

Last of the Mohicans is superb and yes I know of the actor. Heat is one of my favourite films as well. Did you know that was the first time that Al Pacino and De Niro actually we’re in the same frame together despite appearing in many films together?
Native Indian beliefs are quite interesting concerning the afterlife, us coming back around again and so on.

I saw an exhibition of paintings of the Native Americans at the National Portrait Gallery some time ago as they have always held my interest. There was a large map at the entrance showing the names and locations of the many tribes,I tried to buy the same map in the shop but it was not available sadly.I had the idea of framing it and putting it on a reserved space on my lounge wall. I often look up the many tribes as I just love the names they have.I know it is not popular for some reason but often get into the Song of Hiawatha of the Onodaga tribe by Longfellow.Ojibwa(he makes rivers).A truly great poem where you can almost live the life of Hiawatha and all the things in his life that are so important, most of the things described in the Native American language as near as possible.I suppose many know of Minnehaha (laughing water) named by her father the arrow maker, after the sound of the Minnehaha waterfalls.

I wonder if you gentlemen are familiar with the Mayan Ball Game. Football but with the hips instead of feet. A culture built with a sport as its focus. I wish we could do that now, except without the human sacrifice for the losers , of course.

I liked it because John Carpenter's The Thing is one of my favourite movies but it wasn't as good as season 1 It had a few British actors in it. Reminded me much of a British drama called Fortitude set in Norway

Have you seen RocknRolla similar vein as snatch? Snatch and Lock Stock are objectively better films but RocknRolla is my favourite Ritchie. Idris Elba has one of the funniest lines in any movie I've ever seen.
