Been watching "The Long Shadow" on ITV. Seven part series about Peter Sutcliffe, but focusing on the families of the murder victims and the police operation. Watching it, I can't come to terms with the incompetency of the investigation and the way early victims were almost dismissed as if they were asking for trouble. It certainly doesn't show the 1970's and the attitudes that prevailed in a good light. Few computers back then. Sutcliffe name came up several times (from memory 7) but with card index systems, paper filing and tens of thousands of separate pieces of information correlating was not an option and each individually in themselves not conclusive. Not hard to see how this happened. These days this data would be analysed and his name highlighted much quicker. The acceptance the the ripper was a Geordie was a major mistake. The focus went in the wrong direction. His arrest was fortunate but part of police generally keeping their eyes open. Worth bearing in mind this was a dramatisation based on actual events rather than a factual documentary so I’ve no doubt some of the drama was made up for impact.

If you haven’t watched it, I think you’d be surprised by how dismissive the police were of potential witnesses. I get it that this was pre computers, but people died needlessly because of poor detective work and a rigid hierarchy.

And I wonder if that aspect of our police has changed much. And agree that people probably died needlessly. Followed this closely at the time and not the police forces finest hour. And I did watch it, not really impressed. I generally take these “based on a true story” programmes as little more than a drama.

One I've been meaning to watch for a while m.imdb.com/title/tt11127680/?ref_=justwatchFinally got around to watching. Brilliantly filmed in just one long 90 minute take. It really builds the tension. There's also now a TV Series been made of the film. But I won't be watching.

Watched 12 Angry men at the Theatre. Royal Windsor. Patrick Duffy in the Fonda role. A few ex soap actors making up the numbers. Great acting, 2 hours just flew by. Forgot just how good that story is.. So much of the good and bad in human nature on show. And the phycology of interaction, wow. Lots of clips and explanations on YouTube.

I watched some QVC just for the fun of the absurd faux liking of every product. They should listen to Del Shannons Don't gild the lily Lily. If a film about any of Terence Rattigans stage plays such as Seperate Tables I would watch it.Time his works made a comeback.

It went out live and they didn't realise that the guy is a comedian playing them for fools. Top quality.

I really liked it, too. Just an aside, but I thought it was strange when Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross were chosen to do the soundtrack because it didn’t seem to fit their style, but their music was the perfect complement to the storytelling.

Watched the new Dungeons and Dragons film. Honor Amongst Thieves.
Never liked Dungeons and Dragons as a kid, didn't like the film now. Can't quite get my head around things like Dragons, potions and realms.
That said, the film was quite funny so I'd give it a 5/10.

I've been binge watching the new series of 'What we do in the Shadows' on Disney+. I still think it's the funniest thing on 'television' although not as good as series 1 and 2.

I've found Chuck, OMG I'm in love!! It's proper funny and the IMDB rating is spot on. Just finishing season 1 and I'm actually loving it and the main leading lady Yvonne Strahovski, well I think I'm in love!! Stunning and her chemistry with Zachary Levi is truly superb. If you want to smile alot and get a few heart tugs along the way, get on board.

I watched the BBC documentary about Bobby Charlton, 'The first gentleman of football'.
He was one of my hero's and I remember crossing the border into Yugoslavia in the late 1970's and the border guard looked at my passport photo, scowled at me and then passed it back with the words, "Bobby Charlton'
He was a legend of the football world.

I've been watching people talking about the differences between the US and the UK on YouTube.
Tyler Rumple, Ryan Wuzer, Reacting To My Roots, JJLA Reacts, are a few of my favourites.
Other stuff I've been watching are George & Mildred, Man about the house, Doc Martin, Carry on films, In sickness and in health (Alf Garnett), Life on Mars, Red Dwarf.
I think they've all got a 'May offend' attached to them. Stop the world, I wanna get off.
