Sat in the cockpit of a Hunter at the Daily Mail Boys' and Girls' Exhibition at Olympia, Jan 12th 1963 - when the Os were still in the 1st Division!

Talking about planes, two Sundays ago I was playing cricket and was in the field and I heard a distinctive noise, looked up and right there above flying across the top of us was a Spitfire, what a wonderful plane and whilst my knowledge is from books or history on the plane it still gave me goosebumps to see it flying!

Take a trip to Duxford. They often have them flying at weekends.

The Patriot tv show, really good and very much enjoyed it. It’s a black comedy with spying and intelligence agency working in the background. It’s well worth watching.

[br If you can get the app UKTV Drama there is a spy series called Berlin Station about the CIA. 3 series shown. The only downside is the adverts.

Watch mainly you tube and enjoy the audio books.Next for me are audio books of Kafka.Watch a few videos of less famous non league teams. Earlier this week I saw a Spanish video of two football chaps talking the whole 54 minutes of the video about Leyton Orient,it seemed quite strange to devote so much time to the Orient.I speak no Spanish,it may even have been Portugese, but I could pick up a little of what they were saying. One was giving the history of the club as I heard all the familiar words. The same chap drew a big O with his hands telling why we are called the O's.Quite a fascinating video and did not think those in other countries would be interested in the O's,it did give me joy that we was worthy of such a long video.

I have just started We are Newcastle United. 1st episode done, seems quite good.
The CEO says they can only lose £105m over a 3 year period. Don't know how Chelsea are gonna get under that number.

I never watched Star Wars until my son was 6 years old and then watched all the movies (the sixth film episode 3 was released that year ) bought him a Star Wars chess set, loads of Lego related Star Wars, talking moving Yoda and a Millennium Falcon with the small characters (Galactic Heroes). He even had a Darth Vader suit which he wore at a Star Wars convention we went to. And after all that, I will never watch Star Wars again

I'm on my way to Redditch for a meeting and on the journey I will watch episode 3 of The Continental feom the world of John Wick. So far its been good, it pre dates his time in the films, has decent music and well worth your time in watching. It's only 3 episodes and each one is about 90 mins in length so good value for story telling.

Flicking through I saw the start at last of No country for old men.I don't watch many films but this one does get me,a lot of violence and menace. The money pursuar is a phsycopath of the first water.A great acting performance. Last night I watched you tube videos of the romantic English poets and a few of their poems.John Keats lived in Enfield and Edmonton for a while which were both villages at that time.I listened to Ode to a nightigale with great intence and realised how many poems by John Keats deal with his coming death through consumption as he had become a doctor at Guys so he knew his life would be short. If you have never read any poetry give John Keats a look.

Been watching "The Long Shadow" on ITV. Seven part series about Peter Sutcliffe, but focusing on the families of the murder victims and the police operation.
Watching it, I can't come to terms with the incompetency of the investigation and the way early victims were almost dismissed as if they were asking for trouble. It certainly doesn't show the 1970's and the attitudes that prevailed in a good light.
