Confucius he say "Leysdown on sea, gets wet" One of my first holidays as a kid in the 60's was at Seacroft Holiday Camp in Hemsby, Norfolk, so talking about wet, have you seen what's happening there. At the last count 7 houses/cottages have fallen into the sea. I remember dropping a sixpence in the sand there, digging down but never finding it. I also just remembered, Mum buying me flags to stick in my sand castles. Also those rubbish footballs that when you kicked them in the air they sort of stopped momentarily and if the wind was facing you ended up behind ya. We've all kicked them ain't we.

Been watching a video of space when so many planets are in line this month cannot recall if the day was named.I also watch anything new relating to voyagers 1&2.Like my dad I have always been interested in our neighbouring planets and stars. Have read War of the Worlds and it is far different from the great 1953 film.Much of the writing relates to local areas although the first Martians appeared in Surry.Loved Quatermass and the Pit,both film and television series.I have yet to see the last episode of Pit,I may watch that tonight as a treat.

Two things I've watched recently that are worth recommending:
Life and Death in the Warehouse - on I player - a docudrama about the working conditions in Amazon type warehouses.
Onoda 10000 nights in the jungle - a subtitled film based on the true story of the last Japanese soldier to surrender after the Pacific war. The war ended in 1945 and he came out of the Philippino jungle 30 years later having refused to believe that hostilities had ceased.

I just watched the new Killers of the Flower Moon yesterday. The music for the film was done by Robbie Robertson of the Band and uses at least one song from a Canadian First Nation group. The trailer music with the Native American chanting over what sounds like hard electronics is inspired. This trailer was awesome and this film looks like classic immersive Scorsese with a great soundtrack. I can’t wait.

I watched Brave New World revisited with Aldous Huxley. He wrote Brave New World (well worth a read) in 1931,this interview was in 1962.He said how alarmed he was that machines have mesmerised the population and how advanced mind bending drugs had become with the nanny state getting worse and having dominion in everything you do.Far worse than anYthing he wrote in BNW. One only has to look how we have become addicted to our phones and PCs and the control the worlds richest have over us.We never listen,we never learn.

Just started watching Mad Men. Now I remember people going crazy for this back in the day, it has a good IMDB rating and I'm 7 episodes in and I'm thinking what's all the fuss about? Can someone tell me if its worth sticking with cos so fat it's done nothing for me to keep on watching! The first three seasons are fantastic. There are some really good characters in the acting is really good and of course the setting is good as well. The entire show is pretty good but the first three seasons are the best in my opinion. I’ve just finished watching mad men last night! What a show, it’s one of my all time favourites now. Don Draper is a masterpiece of a character, so flawed yet so brilliant. The arcs of the characters probably can’t be bettered and to be so good over so long a period is testament to Mathew Weiner who was also involved in another favourite of mine The Sopranos If anyone wants a great tv show and I mean great, watch Mad Men.

Been watching a lot of videos about the works of Friedrich Nietzsche and other philosophers.Trying to bring a bit of reason for today and the past Thursday evening I saw a video of the Inca kings and the Spanish written by a nephew of one of the Kings in the mid 1500s.Was not on for long about 20 minutes, but it was very enlightening.I will see more if it comes up again. Also been watching some NLN&NLS matches.I like seeing some of the teams we used to play who are now in these leagues. The one that interested me most was Southport because of a sensational match we had with them in 1970 when we won the third division as champions. Must admit to being a tv bore.

Is that the one when we came back from two down to win 3-2, seem to remember Lazarus playing a big part in the eventual outcome.

Yes it was,I think Peter Brabrook started the come back with a Backward header ala the great Alan Gilzean from a corner. The young and beautiful future Mrs redshank was there with me.

I have been watching videos of the wonderful fighter planes we made in the 50s and 60s including the scrapped TSR2.We sure gave those aircrafts such great names. Also watched a simulation of the flight of a Hawker Hunter by that fantastic pilot who flew it between the towers of Tower Bridge and buzzed the Houses of Parliament because they would not celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Royal Air Force. The simulation made great viewing from the seat of a Hawker Hunter.Boys own stuff.
