Just got in from the cinema having gone to see Bob Marley One Love.
As a fan of his music since I was a kid, I went knowing "the story" and Kingsley Ben Adir was absolutely superb as Bob, you could close your eyes and believe the man was alive once more. A massive shout out to Lashana Lynch who played Rita the two of them together were both compelling and captivating as a couple.
I must admit I was welling up as he sung Redemption Song to his children and its at that point you realise he is at peace with himself, life and what will come in a few short years.

Not just watching but listening to.
Got rid of my music system years ago. Recently bought a new TV but more importantly with an added sound system with sub woofer controlled via the TV. Started to listen to music again and the quality of sound from this new system is astonishing. Love it. The clarity of digital sound is a revelation for me when played at levels that do it justice.
Orchestral music pounding out, what a joy. YouTube is amazing, so much good stuff. I’d forgotten just how powerful music can be. Looking for live gigs. Want more.
Note to Redshank. Beethoven needs to be heard in its full glory. Only then is its true genius appreciated. But you’ve known that all along. Me, I’ve just found out.

Interested to know what your new tv is.Plenty of Beethoven to catch up on then dohnut The TV is an LG, latest version, 48 inch OLED and great picture. But thin TVs tend to offer adequate sound only. The real bonus was the addition of a high-end LG sound bar and sub woofer. Procrastinated on this addition for a while but definitely made a good choice. Still working it all out but Bluetooth to my iPhone and a download of music to a memory stick allows me to use the sound system almost standalone. And YouTube via Bluetooth from my iPad offers both great music and the chance to watch the Orchestra playing it in many cases. Only done the 6th and 9th in part so far. And the Danish National who do Ennio Morricone stuff. Many film themes are underrated in my opinion. But my appreciation for good music has certainly been reborn. Many months of pure pleasure await.

Try Beethoven's 8th,Beethoven called it his little 8th and liked it most of all.The second movement is only 4 minutes long but it will live long in your memory. When I get euthanised (and i intend to) I will have that playing and then Yo Yo Mar playing the prelude to Bach's cello suites.Raised to heaven by heavenly music. The thought of it makes me want to shoot through now.But I guess I will have to hang on for a while.

I’ve got a copy of that game. Do have a watch from time to time. Crazy game and so much drama. Never experienced anything quite like it before and since for pure drama affecting both teams for such different reasons. And being in the crowd when news of a goal elsewhere, what a moment.

Recently watched The Great Gatsby with Robert Redford and Mia Farrow.A great American novel that took time to be seen as such.I have read it a number of times and it is always a good read. Mia Farrow acts Daisy fresh from the pages of the book.My favourite lines in the book and film are,Gatsby turned out alright in the end,it was the foul dust that floated in his wake. And Daisy summing up the story part way through with, rich girls don't marry poor boys.

I love the original film and book as well. There is so much symbolism in the book that it made a great introduction for me as a kid. As to the film, the original features a young Sam Waterston who just this week retired from his long run on Law and Order. Great Gatsby contains one of the greatest last lines in literature. “So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.” (The greatest opening line iMHO being in Moby Dick “Call me Ishmael.”) So much meaning in so few words.

What I also liked about the film was the heat they were suffering and all had sweaty faces. The heat was also an important part of the narrative. As they were all very wealthy air conditioning was obviously not around at that time. The author F Scott Fitzgerald, wrote many short stories and I have a few.He wrote the book Tender is the night, which is one of the lines in John Keats poem Ode to a Nightingale. The most beautiful four words put together in a poem.

Just been to see Deadpool and Wolverine and I've got to say its very good, very funny.
Since Avengers End Game, Marvel has been really poor, but Deadpool may just save them.

Now if you want to watch a really good TV series, then I can fully recommend The Handmaid's Tale, ita very dark and a bit disturbing but the story is excellent and the acting is top class.

What worries me Fargo is most of those thugs weren't young. Most have young children. What charming parents we have!
